St. Joseph hosted a Remembrance Ceremony for the Vietnam War on Sunday March 29th.

86 year old Floyd Hauth, a retired Air Force Colonel who served 34 years for our country as well as served in Vietnam, shared his experience with our clients. A gratitude banner was signed by all clients and then presented to him to hang in the local VFW. Each client was given a poppy pin to wear to commemorate the occasion.

In our dining room, a missing man table was set which represented the emotions and feelings reserved for those who did not come home. The ceremony symbolizes that they are with us, here in spirit. All Americans should never forget the brave men and women who answered our nation’s call to serve and fought for our freedom with honor. 🇺🇸

At first, recovery can feel…quiet.

No chaos. No constant highs and lows. And that quiet can feel unfamiliar— even uncomfortable.

But that’s the thing about peace. If you’ve never had it before, it won’t feel natural right away.

So if it feels unfamiliar, don’t run from it. Stay. Because that quiet? That’s what healing sounds like.

"I don’t even know where I’d be today without this place. I came here not once, but twice—once when I was ready, and again when I relapsed and felt like I had failed myself completely. But what I found here both times wasn’t judgment… it was understanding, compassion, and people who truly cared.

Relapse is a hard thing to admit, and it can make you feel like you’re starting over from nothing. But this program reminded me that recovery isn’t about being perfect—it’s about not giving up. They welcomed me back with open arms and helped me see that my story wasn’t over.

The staff here didn’t just treat my addiction—they saw me as a person. They took the time to listen, to guide me, and to help me rebuild not just my sobriety, but my self-worth. They gave me tools I actually use in my daily life, and more importantly, they helped me believe that I deserve a better life.

This place didn’t just help me get clean—it helped change the way I see myself and my future. If you’re struggling, or even if you’ve relapsed and feel like there’s no hope, please know that there is. I’m living proof that you can come back stronger.

I’m forever grateful."

We are honored to walk alongside individuals on their recovery journey and grateful to share their powerful stories of hope. This could be your journey too. Call (888) 727-4465 or visit StJosephInstitute.com today!

"A bottle of water can be $1 at the grocery store, $2 at the gym, $3 at the movies and $6 on a plane, all the same water. The only thing that changed its value was the place. So next time you feel your worth is nothing, maybe you're in the wrong place.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from your SJI family! ☘️

Yesterday, we celebrated with a special visit from a leprechaun—also known as Mark Gasper—who just so happened to be celebrating his 5-year anniversary with SJI! We also came together for an all-staff meeting featuring a fun green food competition. At SJI, we never miss a reason to celebrate.

We’re also proud to recognize two additional work anniversaries from yesterday:
Lauren Pritchard – 8 years
Lexus Weaver – 1 year

Longevity and dedication are what make SJI so special! 💚
