It has been one week since i completed a bucket list journey. I had a variety of emotions when finishing. I am not sure i can adequately explain the thrill of having completed it and the yearning to keep going. The pics below are a crane which was tearing down a bridge. I was escorted around it by a tug boat. The rest is my home port.
I have been asked if I would do it again. The answer is yes! However, i have more on my bucket list. I want to thank my clients for being flexible and working with my schedule. It was great having you along on this journey. Your support was paramount in my completing it. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

I usually post pics of sunrises and sunsets. The journey has a lot of work as well and then occasionally mother nature kicks up her heels. I have spent the last five days in Stienhatchee, FL waiting for the weather to break. In case you forgot, they got hit by a hurricane and a lot of places are still closed. What is open is still recovering. Yet, they have helped me out in so many ways. The glow of good souls is better than a nice sunset.
The weather breaks tomorrow and Saturday i head to Clearwater municipal marina.

It is a wonderful feeling to get out of the rivers across Mobile bay and into the state of florida. My welcoming committee was a pod of dolphins following the boat and doing flops on their side. It was a spectacular way to start off in the Florida waterways. I will be making my way along the coast as weather permits

Low water, sharing a lock with a barge, fall colors, sound of a train from underneath it and white sandstone cliffs are just part of the memories from the last few weeks. I want thank my clients for being so helpful and flexible. I have been in the land of limited cell service. My first purchase when i get back is starlink.

It has been an adventure. I have now been down the Calumet, illinois, Mississippi and Ohio rivers until this trip i had no idea how much was transported by barge it is truly amazing what these tug captains do on a daily basis. I am glad to be sitting on Barkley lake. Here are a few pics from the waterways!

I have been in Hammond Marina for two weeks plus waiting to get through the locks on the Illinois river. They have been closed for maintenance. They are now letting traffic through so tomorrow I start the journey south through the Mississippi water shed basin. It is a challenging run through the Calumet, Illinois, Mississippi and Ohio rivers. The reward will be the warmer climate south of here. It was 46 this morning and very windy.
I need to thank John and Nora for all the hospitality.

This week i saw the Chicago skyline as i moved into Northwest Indiana on Lake Michigan. It is time to hop off the boat a few weeks and see family and friends. Next up is the Illinois, Mississippi and Ohio river. It is a big challenge for a solo boater and one i am excited about doing.

It has been some time since i posted. i have had inquiries if i am still afloat. Yes! I am still afloat and travelling. I just took a short break. The people of Grand Haven municipal marina were excellent in making that happen. Here are some pics of the journey
