I am excited to share our daily Thanksgiving Tip for day 26:

DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR TURKEY CARCASS!!!

It makes the most amazing broth! Simply put it in your large stockpot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about an hour. (I prefer to stuff the carcass in the pot of my Multicooker and process it that way.)

Strain, return the broth to your pot for soup or freeze for use later.

This is HEALTHY bone broth!! You can actually strain the bones and repeat the process. The flavor will diminish, but will still provide a healthy broth.

DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR TURKEY CARCASS! It makes the MOST amazing turkey broth for soup!

This video is 4 years old. Pampered Chef products have changed, but the procedure is the same.

While we're on the subject of change...
The name has changed. 🤷‍♀️
The venue has changed. 😔
And...I am thinner now!!! 🙌 LOL
And happier. ♥️

Oops...here's yesterday's tip!

Day 23 Thanksgiving Tip:

Don't forget to thaw your turkey responsibly! 😊
Turkeys can range in size from 8 to 24 pounds, so it varies just how much time turkey will take to thaw completely. Here are some general rules:

Fridge thawing: If thawing in the refrigerator, it t
akes a frozen turkey about 24 hours for every 4 to 5 pounds of the frozen turkey's listed weight. This means that an average 16-pound frozen turkey takes about 4 days to thaw in the refrigerator.

Cold water thawing: If thawing in cold water, it takes a frozen turkey about 30 minutes to thaw for every pound. For example, an average 16-pound frozen turkey will take about 8 hours to thaw using the cold water method. But remember that you can't simply cover your turkey with cold water and forget it overnight—the cold water method requires draining and refreshing the water every 30 minutes.

Today's tip for day 21 of our Thanksgiving Tips is to consider trying a new dessert. And here is a relatively healthy show stopper! Would your guests like this??

Baked Pears
Ingredients (Serves 2–4)
2 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett work best)
2–3 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
1 tbsp olive oil (optional, gives a Mediterranean richness)
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
¼ cup walnuts, roughly chopped
¼ cup fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled (or goat cheese)
1–2 tbsp lemon juice
Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
---
Instructions
1. Prepare the pears
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the pears in half lengthwise, then scoop out the seeds and a bit of the center to create a small "well".
Brush the cut sides lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning.

2. Flavor the pears
Place pears in a baking dish, cut side up.
Drizzle with honey and olive oil.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.

3. Bake
Add a splash of water (2–3 tbsp) to the bottom of the baking dish to keep pears moist.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until pears are tender and caramelized.

4. Add toppings
Once out of the oven, fill each pear center with:
Fresh berries
Chopped walnuts
Crumpled feta
Drizzle a little more warm honey on top if desired.

5. Garnish & serve
Add fresh mint leaves

Serve warm, alone or with:
Greek yogurt
Vanilla ice cream
Whipped ricotta

A delicious Thanksgiving Tip for Day 17:

Imagine on a busy Thanksgiving Day, just reaching into your freezer for this FABULOUS dessert you prepared ahead of time!

Frosty Pumpkin Dessert
The flavors of this frozen dessert may remind you of autumn, but after one taste, you'll want to serve it all year long.

Ingredients
32 gingersnap cookies, finely chopped (1 1/3 cups crumbs)
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 container (1/2 gallon) vanilla ice cream, divided
2 1/2 cups thawed, frozen whipped topping, divided
2/3 cup toffee bits
1 cup solid pack pumpkin
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Directions
Chop cookies with Food Chopper. Place butter in Small Micro-Cooker®; microwave on HIGH 30-40 seconds or until melted. Stir in crumbs. Firmly press crumb mixture onto bottom of Springform Pan. Place in freezer.

Scoop half of the ice cream into Classic Batter Bowl using Ice Cream Scoop. Place in refrigerator 10 minutes to soften.
Fold 1 cup of the whipped topping and toffee bits into softened ice cream just until blended. Spread evenly over crust using All-Purpose Spreader. Freeze until firm, about 1 hour.

Place remaining ice cream in refrigerator 10 minutes to soften. Meanwhile, mix pumpkin, brown sugar and spice blend in batter bowl. Scoop softened ice cream into pumpkin mixture. Mix just until blended. Spread evenly over ice cream layer. Freeze until firm, about 8 hours or overnight.

When ready to serve, place dessert in refrigerator 20 minutes for easier slicing. Fill Dual Piping Bag with remaining whipped topping to decorate. Run Utility Knife around outside of dessert; remove collar from springform pan. Smooth sides with spreader. Cut dessert into wedges. Garnish each serving with whipped topping and sprinkle with additional spice blend, if desired.
