Ever wonder what actually happens during a dental cleaning? Let's walk through it. 🩺

Your pet is safely anesthetized so we can do a thorough job without stress or pain. We examine every tooth and check for problems below the gum line. Ultrasonic scaling removes tartar from all tooth surfaces, including under the gums where disease starts. We polish teeth to smooth surfaces and slow future buildup. We take dental X-rays to check tooth roots and surrounding bone. Any damaged or infected teeth are addressed.

Anesthesia concerns are valid, but it's the only way to properly clean and examine teeth. We use modern, safe protocols with monitoring throughout.

With the dangerously cold temperatures, we want to remind everyone to keep a close eye on your pets. Prolonged exposure to extreme cold can lead to frostbite and hypothermia, especially on ears, paws, tails, and noses.

Please monitor your pets closely for signs such as:
• Pale or discolored skin
• Swelling or pain when touched
• Lethargy, shivering, or weakness
• Reluctance to walk or lift paws

Limit time outdoors, ensure pets have warm shelter, and avoid icy surfaces when possible. If you notice any concerning signs or have questions, we’re here to help.
