❤️ American Heart Month at the Y ❤️

This February, we’re celebrating heart health where it starts—on your plate. From February 16–20, will be serving heart-healthy soups and meals designed to support cardiovascular wellness without sacrificing flavor.

🍲 On the menu:
• Lentil & Vegetable Soup – Fiber-rich lentils, leafy greens, and heart-healthy olive oil to support healthy cholesterol and blood pressure
• Tomato Basil Soup – Packed with antioxidant-rich tomatoes, garlic, and basil for vascular health
🍽️ Baked Chicken with Quinoa & Steamed Broccoli – Lean protein, whole grains, and nutrient-dense veggies for balanced, heart-smart nutrition

All recipes are low sodium, high in fiber, made with lean proteins, and use healthy fats—supporting blood pressure, cholesterol, and overall heart health.

Because taking care of your heart can (and should) taste good. ❤️

The NEW Nutrition Kitchen of Portage Township YMCA

The Nutrition Kitchen has a goal of offering simple choices and the programming to help you understand how what you put into your body affects how you feel, perform, and live. The Portage Township YMCA identified a need of their members and the community to fuel their bodies before, during and after workouts. With so many weight-loss supplements & other protein shake options out there, it can be hard for anyone without a nutritional background to know how, why and what they should use. Shakes are not the only thing the Nutrition Kitchen offers either; protein bars are also on the menu along with nutrition-based programming & events. We are open to serve our members and the general public!
