I have always tried to coach/help out with anything our kids do. Now that I've lost a whopping 150 pounds it’s so much easier to get out there, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute blast! Seeing their smiling faces and watching them improve has been so rewarding.

I'm incredibly grateful for all the love and support I've received throughout this journey, and I can't wait to see what the future holds! Thank you all for being a part of my story! Let's keep pushing ourselves to reach new heights!

As I look back over my 2-year weight loss I can't help but remember my first outing.

πŸ—“οΈ After spending 10 days in recovery, I found myself going a little stir-crazy. The healing process is crucial, but the longing for some fresh air and movement started to build up.

πŸ’ͺπŸ₯ Gastric sleeve surgery is a transformative journey, and while the initial recovery period is necessary for a successful outcome, the desire to be active can become overwhelming. It's important to remember that each person's recovery timeline may differ, and it's essential to follow your doctor's instructions. But when the time is right, a gentle walk can work wonders for your spirit and overall well-being. 🏞️

πŸŒ±πŸ‘Ÿ Putting on my walking shoes and stepping outside, I felt a sense of liberation like never before. It was a reminder that life goes on, and I am an active participant in it.

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸŒΌ Taking that first step was both physical and symbolic. Physically, it helped me stretch my muscles, improve blood flow, and enhance my cardiovascular health. Symbolically, it represented my determination to embrace a healthier lifestyle and to continue to make positive changes in my life. πŸ’ͺ🌿

Walking may seem like a simple activity, but it can have profound effects on our mental and emotional well-being as well. The rhythm of each step became a form of meditation, allowing me to clear my mind, reduce stress, and find a sense of peace. It reminded me that even small victories and moments of self-care can make a world of difference.

🌟If you're on a similar journey, be patient with yourself and listen to your body. Take the necessary time to heal, but don't forget to celebrate the small milestones along the way. When the moment arrives, take that first walk, and let the world welcome you back with open arms. Embrace the joy of movement and the freedom it brings. πŸ₯³

Raise your hand if your dreams have ALWAYS ended up the way you envisioned. Anyone? Yeah, me neither. But that’s alright with me, because I never would have dreamt that I’d lose 150 pounds! It made me realize that asking for help is NEVER out of style. What unexpected dreams have you experienced?

Christmas is a week away! This will be my second holiday season after weight loss surgery. I cannot believe I have lost 150 pounds from my highest weight! Since taking a proactive approach to weight loss and truly committing to learning what is a need, a want, and a trigger for overeating; I cannot believe how much better I feel! Plus, how much better I feel prepared for the holidays without the dread of overeating and heading straight for a food coma.

One of the biggest things I learned was that I did have triggers and responding with eating, for whatever reason, was a huge problem.

The holidays are full of nostalgia, memories, positive and negative associations, extremely plentiful portions of food and stress.

β€’ Nostalgic food, memories with those eating habits, food scarcity upbringing
β€’ Stress, fatigue, previous expectations, sneaking food in another room to avoid judgements or the perception of being judged
β€’ Abundant specially prepared dishes and desserts
β€’ Stressful family situations or impending changes with no control

What make any of these an issue for anyone can be a personal issue. One of the first things to do is recognize what is happening, and at least part of why it causes what it does. Diversions or replacement activities are something I focused on during my weight loss journey.

Once you know what your triggers maybe you can work on reducing them and/or reforming them.

Why would I want to ruin this by eating until I am uncomfortable or not able to move?!?

One of my favorite parts of having weight loss surgery is the reduced stomach size. One of the biggest problems people can have with the sleeve surgery is stretching it out and being able to eat just as much as before. Right now, I am very near my goal weight, and I am focused on keeping my portions, and stomach size, in check,
