Bread Shipping Announcement: please read this if you order our bread loaves for nationwide shipping!

The holidays are almost here, and our ovens are already warming up for Thanksgiving! To make sure you receive your favorite loaves in time for the big feast, please note:

🍞 Order Deadline: All Thanksgiving bread orders FOR NATIONWIDE SHIPPING must be placed by this Saturday, 11/15 on our bread shipping website BASTIONFOODS.COM

🚚 Shipping Pause: We will NOT be shipping orders during the week of Thanksgiving so our team can enjoy the holiday with family and friends.

If you’d like your bread to arrive before Thanksgiving, be sure to place your order before the cutoff date. Orders received after Saturday will be shipped the following week once we resume our normal schedule.

If you are local to the Portland area, place your online orders at BASTIONPDX.COM for pick ups on Tuesday 11/25 or Wednesday 11/26.

Get ready…. Get set…. ORDER! 🍂🦃🥧

Our Thanksgiving pre-orders are now LIVE and we’re excited to announce that we’ve also created a much more user-friendly website to make your ordering process so much easier to navigate this year!

Take a peek at this video to see how it works, then head to our new site to get yourself some pie and stuffing and rolls ordered. Click the website link in our bio (or type bastionpdx.com into your browser).

Holiday items include: pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cookies by the dozen, stuffing kits, pull-apart rolls, and bread loaves.

Pick-up details are as follows:

The pre-order window closes at 11:59PM on Friday November 21st, so get your orders in by then! Pick-up days are TUESDAY NOVEMBER 25th from 10am to 2pm or WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 26th from 9am to 4pm. We will have pastries, drinks and retail items available on Tuesday, and will be fully open with our usual hot food and drink menu on Wednesday.

Don’t hesitate to ask any questions you might have.

Holiday things are in the air! 🍂🥧

We’ve been getting eager requests for when Thanksgiving holiday pre-orders will be available and what we’ll be offering this year. Here’s the deets!

Our holiday pre-orders will go live this WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 5TH! Our offerings will look similar to years prior including all of your favorite things like pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cookies by the dozen, bread loaves, rolls, and stuffing kits. We may even feature a new item, so stay tuned to see what we have up our sleeves!

We will advertise our pre-orders in-person at Bastion, on social media, on our websites (bastionpdx.com and bastionfoods.com will all point to the same page!), and we’ll send out an email newsletter to our customers who have entered their email addresses into Square.

If you have any questions for us, don’t hesitate to ask!

Our weekend brunch menu has made a little change that you might want to come check out 😏

Our Seasonal French Toast is now made with our housemade brioche loaf, soaked in a cinnamon spiced farm fresh egg custard, cooked to perfection and topped with our housemade berry compote, whipped coconut yogurt crema, fresh fruit and grain-free almond granola.

Why we made this change… have you tried our brioche buns?! Oh my, they are good. We can’t wait for you to try it!

Exciting news!!! Today, tomorrow and Friday we are bringing back our spooktacular gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free dirt cups with housemade vegan gummy worms! Not only are they oh so adorable, they also taste amazing 😍

Here’s what’s inside:

The Mud: chocolate banana cashew cream cheese mousse
The Whipped Cream: house made probiotic rich coconut yogurt
The Worms: agar agar, lemon, spirulina and other nutrient-dense color-changing powders
The Dirt: brownie cookie crumbles

You may still be feeling the summer sun’s warmth on your skin, but this Monday marks the first day of fall and we have some exciting menu changes rolling out for you!

First up: PUMPKIN & APPLE SPICED DRINKS 😍🍂

The Great Spiced Pumpkin is the PSL of your dreams; it comes either with or without coffee so those who like to stay caffeine-free can still enjoy the taste of autumn in a mug (be sure to ask for it to have coffee if you want it!). Pumpkin pie spices meet housemade caramel sauce and perfectly steamed mylk, and we add reishi mushroom for a boost to your immune system.

The Caramel Apple Pie Smoothie is the perfect reminder that apple cider season is in full swing 😍

It comes with local apple cider, coconut mylk, apple pie spices, banana, reishi mushroom, and housemade caramel sauce. It’s the perfect cold drink to ease your way slowly into the chillier weather of fall while still getting to sip those quintessential flavors 😉

Starting next week, we’ll be transitioning into our fall hot food menu items and can’t wait to share what it holds…. Stay tuned!

Late summer has hit the menu at Bastion, welcoming all things tomato and pepper! So naturally, we’ve done a little updating to the Summer Harvest Bowl to keep with the changing season.

Our new Harvest Bowl starts with the best part… the sauce 😍 Our Roasted Tomato & Red Pepper Romesco is made with sunflower seeds to keep it nut-free, and is equal parts tangy, smoky, rich and creamy. We ladle a generous helping of it into the bottom of the bowl and top it with roasted green bean, summer squash, oyster mushroom and kale, serve it with jasmine rice and top it with fresh tomato, toasted sunflower seed and amaranth microgreens.

You can choose to add egg, salmon or fried chicken to it for extra protein, or enjoy it just as it comes.

This version of the Harvest Bowl will be with us until fall weather hits, so get it while it’s hot! Literally!

Happy summer, y’all, it’s officially gazpacho season! We look forward to the dog day of summer every year… when the summer veg is bursting with ripeness and flavor. The cucumbers and tomatoes seem to be infinitely abundant. And a perfect chilled soup just gets you.

We roll this one out every year at this time, and for good reason. It pairs cucumbers with roasted tomatillos which are blended with our house coconut yogurt and fresh herbs, and is topped with cucumber slivers, cherry tomatoes, fresh dill, black pepper, herb oil and pea tendrils. We serve it with our farmhouse multigrain bread because every good soup deserves warm bread for dunking 😍

It’s officially summer at Bastion when the Seared Tuna Niçoise hits the menu 🔥

Here’s the deets if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her yet:

Local mixed greens are tossed with our housemade lemon poppyseed vinaigrette, then topped with fennel crusted & seared Oregon line-caught Albacore Tuna, roasted potatoes, green beans, Niçoise olives, capers, and cherry tomatoes.

It’s the sweet taste of summer we crave all year long 😍

Come get it until the summer’s end. I promise it never gets old!

Attention please!

First up: we will be CLOSED tomorrow 7/4 to give our team a day of rest and play since they work very hard to keep this beautiful Bastion baby going with me. We’ll be back with regular hours 9am-4pm Saturday and Sunday so come see us then!

Second up: COME STOCK UP ON BRIOCHE BUNS FOR YOUR HOLIDAY WEEKEND! We have both burger and hotdog style brioche buns available today! Some packs contain sesame seed topping and some are plain. Choose your own adventure!

Our signature summer potato salad is also back for the summer season starting this week, replacing the quinoa salad for now. Come snag some to take to your friends and family, or keep it all for you!

Either way, today’s the day to come by and stock up on all your needs for the holiday tomorrow, and then come brunch with us this weekend! (and pssst…. the tuna Niçoise is back this weekend too!!!!!)

Customers: “do you make custom cakes?”

Us: “why, yes we DO make custom cakes!”

We absolutely love making cakes to be a part of your celebrations. As you can see, we have a certain style to our cake decorations. It’s a lot more… wild flowers and fresh greenery meets coconut flakes and other edible accoutrements. It sure isn’t your run-of-the-mill cake!

As with everything we do, our cakes are 100% free from gluten, dairy, refined sugar, soy, corn, seed oils, gums, and fillers because even when you’re celebrating, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your standards. So we keep ours high for you!

Our frostings are housemade and are cashew cream cheese based which is rich, indulgent and delightful, but a heads up; they don’t lend themselves very well to piped-on wording so we tend to let the seasonal garnishes send a message instead of the more traditional “happy birthday” wishes written on top. We like to think of it as abstract art 😅

It’s warming up out there! Spring is in full swing, and so is our seasonal spring harvest bowl.

Roasted asparagus, spring radish, oyster mushroom and frisée are paired with jasmine rice and our fresh mint & arugula pumpkin seed pesto. Topped with our signature smoked pumpkin seeds, parsley, and beautiful pink amaranth microgreens. Add an egg or a wild salmon filet if you need a protein boost, or enjoy it as is!

It tastes like pure spring joy.

Pro tip: get a Mango Mind Boost smoothie to go with it, it’s good for your brains and will cool you down!

Cooking with the seasons just tastes better 😍
