🧠 Food for Thought: Why Aren’t Parents CPR Certified?

Oregon requires all child care workers to be CPR and First Aid certified. Makes total sense—they're responsible for children's safety every day.

But here's our question:

Why aren’t parents required to be CPR certified, too?
Aren’t they around their kids even more—during meals, play and sleep?

Emergencies like choking, drowning, or allergic reactions happen most often at home. And when every second counts, would you know what to do?

💬 We’re not saying it should be mandatory (yet 😉), but what if CPR training was a normal part of parenting?

Summer is in full swing here in the Portland area. Yes, the sun bring joy and plenty of fun but it also can cause some serious issues if not careful. So as the summer heat ranks up, keep your eyes open and be careful.

Too much sun can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, or even heat stroke — all of which require quick action. Know the signs, stay hydrated, and protect your skin.
