Earplug Fitting Tip: Press firmly cupped hands over your ears while listening to a constant/steady noise. With properly fitted ear plugs, the noise level should be about the same, whether or not your ears are covered.

When performing on-site hearing testing, our CAOHC Certified Technicians monitor the employee’s hearing test as it is in progress with prior test records available for review. If necessary, an immediate retest is performed to verify the audiogram results. Each of the audiometers are exhaustively calibrated on an annual basis and daily checks are performed by our technicians.

May is Better Hearing & Speech Month - Part 2: Sounds at 70 decibels (dBA) or lower are generally safe to listen to for an extended period of time. Sounds at 80 dBA (for adults) or 75 dBA (for children) can lead to hearing loss if you listen to them for more than 8 hours at a time. The louder the noise, the less time you can listen safely.
