I’ll keep this short and sweet because I want to talk less and show more!
This beautiful nurse in her 40’s wanted to look less tired and more refreshed. So we did her upper lid blepharoplasty as an in-office procedure under local anesthesia with a touch of oral sedation. We understood the assignment and got it done! She is pictured 4 months after her procedure. 👀

This beautiful local patient in her 30’s came to see me after having had injectables in the past. She had lip filler and the “lip flip,” but none gave her the shape and long-lasting results she was looking for. She was looking for a more upturned lip with more eversion so that her red lip would show more while at the same time reducing the “white lip” length.
Under local anesthesia and oral sedation, we took off a maximal vertical length of 5mm from a 16.5mm pre-procedure lip length. You can already see her increased tooth show and just overall enhanced proportions. She is 2 months out from her procedure so she has a little residual redness and firmness of her scar that will continue to fade over the next couple of months.

Nothing but net! (Sometimes)
In some patients who have slightly higher intraoperative bleeding or an increased risk of bleeding, we may use a technique called a “hemostatic net.” This is an additional tool designed to reduce the likelihood of a hematoma, which remains one of the more common complications following facial rejuvenation surgery. 🩸
It may look dramatic, but it is temporary and typically stays in place for only a few days after surgery. Patients do not experience increased pain from it, and any marks fade as healing progresses. We always prepare our patients in advance when we anticipate using this technique so there are no surprises.
Apologies if you weren’t quite ready for this photo… but you were warned!

“The best thing I have ever done for myself”

I love a good ! This beautiful local patient in her 30s wanted subtle refinement while keeping a natural, balanced look that still felt like her. Her primary concern was a small dorsal bump along the bridge of her nose, and our goal was gentle smoothing and refinement rather than dramatic change.

Here she is on video just 6 days after her rhinoplasty. She has minimal swelling, no bruising, and lots of smiles. I think we hit the sweet spot with this one, and I can’t wait to see how she heals. Actually, this video is old, so she has already come in for her 1 month postop visit, and I will post those soon! Spoiler alert: she looks amazing!

Okay enough of the intraoperative stuff (for now). Here’s a before and after of a beautiful patient just 4 months after deep plane face and neck lift, temporal brow lift, and lip lift. She doesn’t look like a different person, but just a more radiant version of herself and that’s what it’s all about!

Buccal fat reduction is designed to modestly reduce excess facial volume in patients with fuller or “chubby” cheeks. The buccal fat pad sits deep in the cheek, in the area you can push outward with your tongue.
There’s been a lot of negative conversation around this procedure lately. My take is that it comes down to patient selection. Many of the overly hollow results you see in the media were simply not appropriate candidates to begin with.
An important point: the buccal fat pad is a distinct, encapsulated fat pad located within the masticatory space. It can be accessed in two ways.
SLIDE 2: Standalone buccal fat reduction is performed through a small incision inside the cheek. This is typically done under oral sedation and local anesthesia and is very well tolerated.
SLIDE 3: The other approach is during facial rejuvenation surgery. As part of my signature deep plane facelift, we elevate a composite skin and SMAS flap to mobilize the facial soft tissues. Before suspension, the buccal fat pad can be safely accessed and conservatively reduced under direct visualization.
When performed thoughtfully and on the right patient, buccal fat reduction is a safe, effective way to subtly refine facial contours, not hollow them.

This handsome guy in his 30’s was looking to change his nose for aesthetic and functional reasons. No amount of treatment would help alleviate his nasal obstruction so he took the opportunity to reduce the size of his nose and create more symmetry at the same time through surgery.
We took him to the operating room and performed a septorhinoplasty. He is pictured here before and after 1 month. He is already seeing and experiencing some really nice changes to his nose inside and out!
