Our annual auction is always a blast, but it's also a great time to highlight our mission and to hear the "why" behind our classroom disabilities awareness and inclusion programs. This year we were honored to hear from three people about their own reasons. In addition to our board chair Dr. Kate McCrann, we loved hearing personal "whys" from two guest speakers: Jane Kilbride Dupuis of the Cumberland/North Yarmouth school system, and Dana Bigelow, a Syracuse University student from Falmouth whose younger sister has a rare genetic disorder. Thank you to Jane and Dana for sharing your personal thoughts on why respect and inclusion matter.

As we spread the word about our Celebrating INCLUSION Dinner & Auction on June 12, we are grateful to have the support of WMTW Channel 8, our long time media sponsor, and all the other local companies and individuals who sponsor this event. We believe that people with disabilities deserve respect and inclusion, and we look forward to a fabulous evening raising funds for our disabilities awareness programs in Maine schools that help students become more inclusive, kind, and respectful.

Help Foster Awareness, Inclusion, and Respect!

Did you know that our unique programs in Maine schools foster kindness, build more respectful and inclusive classrooms, and reduce teasing and bullying of students with disabilities?

Through these programs, classmates become more aware, empathetic, and inclusive. They learn how their words and actions matter. They develop connections and friendships that they didn’t have before. Most of all, they come to understand that they have the power to create and support more respectful schools and communities right here in Maine.

To continue this vital work, we need your help. Your donation of any amount ensures that we can keep providing these free programs in schools so that children with special needs are treated with the kindness and respect that we all deserve.

Please make your easy, secure online donation today!

We send a huge thank you to Sue & Jeff Welton and Kate & Jeff Putnam for hosting a fun and fabulous winetasting party on Great Diamond Island to benefit The Cromwell Center on Friday night. Thanks as well to the GDI community for turning out to sip wine, hear about our work, and donate to support our school programs!
