* Acute injury is sudden, intense, and typically lasts < 6months. Inflammation that accompanies acute injury is different and should be treated differently than chronic inflammation.
This advice is only about acute inflammation, not chronic or persisting.

I also believe that there is a time and place for Ice and ibuprofen treatments, just not typically in acute injury 🤷‍♀️

I know that this is contradictory to the RICE method that most of us where taught. However, even the person who coined the RICE method came out and retracted his findings over a decade ago! It’s wild to me that ice and rest are still prevalent treatment methods even after all of this time and consistent research finding that the opposite is more effective for quick and efficient healing.

What are your thoughts? Have you been told to Rest, Ice, Compress, and Elevate? Would you ever try movement instead?

Hiiii

I’m back!

Anyone else get so overwhelmed by the idea of trying to use social media for business related things in the midst of *gestures wildly at eVeRyThInG* that they accidentally take an entire 4 month hiatus from posting?

Just me? Whoops!

Yes, I’m still emotionally exhausted and trying to fight off the activism fatigue, but I’m also here! I’m still doing massage, still helping people manage their pain, still coming up with new ways to help you overcome chronic and repetitive pain for good.
