In October, I took a pause from births so I could recharge and recalibrate with my young family.

This morning, I had the honor of going to a beautiful birth, and oh man, does it feel good to be back.

This is the most special, magical, hard work, and I feel the most lucky. ✨

My husband calls this smile my “puppy baby” smile. It’s a smile that apparently only comes out when I’m holding puppies or babies. Because…duh. 🥹

I actually rarely hold my clients’ babies. I never ask - it’s their sweet, brand new little human they just worked hard to meet! But you better believe I say “yes” when offered or asked. It’s the biggest treat.

This is my first run postpartum. My baby is 6 months old. It was a 10 minute alternating run/walk.

And it felt SO good. 🥳

Postpartum is the long game. I am still healing, still rebuilding my strength, still discovering the new ways in which my body has changed this second time around.

I am so grateful and proud of my body AND being so patient is hard. Really hard sometimes. I did pelvic floor PT prenatally and postnatally with . I did “all the things” this time around, and it still took 6 months to get to impact work. Thank you prolapse! 🙃 From here, I build little by little. Adding just a couple minutes at a time. But I’ll get there!

Postpartum, no matter where you are in it, is about celebrating the little wins. The little moments that bring you back to yourself. Or, help you connect with the NEW self you are with THIS baby.

Those little wins add up. And they feel really big. 🩵

You know you’re a doula when you’re THIS excited for your model pelvis to arrive in the mail.

I’m teaching lots of childbirth ed these days both privately and and I get pretty jazzed when talking about movement in labor (even with an epidural!). So, I had to get a pelvis! It’s so much more dynamic than most people think.

If you wanna geek out with me about pelvic dynamics, I’d be thrilled.

Know anyone looking for last minute doula support? I have some openings!

I do virtual support, too!

While some months are booked for full birth support, I always have availability for prenatal- and postpartum-prep sessions, as well as private childbirth education sessions. Check out steadybirth.com or reach out to learn about offerings.

✨ new logo ✨

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with in coming up with a logo for Steady Birth.

We talked a lot about what the “steady” in Steady Birth stood for.

These are the list of words I shared, these are the feelings I hope to bring when offering support to clients. No matter the “type” of birth, no matter the setting.

Steady
Anchored
Calm
Solid
Even
Weighted
Grounded
Rooted
Planted
Rock solid
Support/supported
Stable
Balanced
Secure
Dependable
Unshakable
Moored
Continuous
Durable
Earth(ed)

I believe that these feelings are accessible when you have the right team around you. When you feel educated in your options. When space is held ... to feel safe, to feel powerful, to feel the most vulnerable, to be held in love. And that looks so different for each person. I hope to honor that space, to keep it ... steady. 💛

Shout out to working parents. This is called 1000 card (literally) pick up. This is what attention on a lot of different things looks like sometimes. He’s cute though. And, I’m soaking in time with just him before the new babe arrives any day (week?) now. 🥹

This is not your typical prep class. You will walk away with 👏 concrete 👏 ways to be prepared for postpartum.

It is tactical and practical.

You'll leave with tools in hand 🤲 to feel confident and prepared for those first few raw minutes, hours, days, and months.

And it will be a whoooole lot of fun.
