Herbs can be helpful tools through times of grief and overwhelm. Here are some blends I recommend to ease panic attacks, nervousness, insomnia, depression, and disorientation.

Don’t Panic - immediately soothe an activated nervous system during distress or panic attack. Calming in small doses, sedating in high doses. I used to call this one the ‘Stage Fright’ blend.

Quiet Place - a tonic for the nervous system. Regulate dopamine and gently soothe nerves.

Clear Mind - nourish cognitive function and memory recall.

Good Grief - support the emotional and physical heart, offering comfort and solace during times of sorrow or emotional upheaval.

Head Ease - eases tension and enhances circulation, providing soothing support for headache relief.

High Spirits - uplift and energize body and mind, fostering sustained focus and lifted mood throughout the day. Really beneficial for the sleepy depressive type.

We will be plant dyeing with a mix of food and flowers. Participants will bring home 3 different types of dish towels and color swatches from each dye bath in silk and cotton. You will also learn preparation techniques such as scouring and mordanting, giving you a launching point to start or deepen your own plant dye practice.

This class is for you if you:

Plants bring vibrancy and color to our world in more ways than one. Peoples from all over the world have worked with plants to color their garments. Though natural dyes is still found in many traditional cultures around the world, artificial dyes came into use in the 1850s changing the global garment industry. Each circle will center a mystery plant ally, who we will sit with in meditation & experience sensually to open the circle. Only after this intentional time relating sensually & energetically, we will engage our intellects to discuss the featured plant’s constituents, folklore, & potential role in blessing our bleeding. Examples of appropriate harvest, dosage, formulation & preparation will be given as ideas, not instruction.

In contrast to traditional garment-mending, where the goal is to hide repairs with subtle stitches, visible mending is about turning repairs into ornamentation. Using beginner-friendly techniques, anyone can revive their old clothes with bits of artistry.

Bring all your garments & textiles in need of repair (yes, even sweatpants, socks and kitchen rags), choose from a wide selection of specialty threads and fabric patches, and stitch new life into your belongings. Meanwhile, listen to a live reading of excerpts from Occult Needlecraft and The Stitching Hands, a pair of essays exploring the magic potency of textile art and craft.
