Darlene was born March 5, 1967 in Portland TN to parents Lawrence Keeling and Joyce Gregory Keeling. She was a 1985 graduate of Portland High School and the Vocational Center with a focus on Cosmetology. She immediately began her 41-year career as a hairdresser extraordinaire. Her joy was in helping people to look and feel beautiful. Darlene’s clients and co-workers became lifelong friends. She loved them and they loved her.
Darlene’s big laugh, loud voice and funny stories drew people in and they wanted to stay. She was quick to give a compliment, to encourage or wrap you up in a big hug. Darlene could light up a room. Hers was a life well lived to the fullest and overflowing. She loved her family fiercely and we loved her back. We were unprepared for her homegoing, but she was ready when it was her time. We will miss you our sweet, precious DarDar.
