School Exclusion Reminder – February 25, 2026

Did you know? Under Oregon law, all K–12 students and children attending day care or child care facilities must be up to date on required vaccines based on their age or grade level.

What this means:
Children without current vaccination records may be excluded from school or child care starting February 25, 2026, or sooner if there’s a disease outbreak.

The Children’s Clinic Statement on Vaccine Safety and Immunization Schedule

At The Children’s Clinic, we are committed to protecting the health of every child in our community through evidence-based medical care. Vaccines are among the safest and most effective tools we have to prevent serious childhood diseases, and we stand firmly behind their use.

We will continue to follow the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. This schedule is developed by leading experts in pediatric infectious diseases and is updated annually based on the latest scientific evidence. The timing of vaccines is carefully designed to protect children when they are most vulnerable to serious infections. The science has not changed and we firmly believe that all of the vaccines on the schedule are safe and effective. At this time we do not have any reason to believe that vaccines as recommended on this schedule would not be covered by insurance.

We recognize that parents may have questions or concerns about vaccines, and we welcome these conversations. Our team is here to provide accurate, evidence-based information to help families make informed decisions about their children’s health. The scientific evidence is clear: vaccines save lives, prevent serious illness, and protect not only individual children but entire communities.

We are proud to continue this commitment to evidence-based care and the health of all children.

We have had a great time celebrating the upcoming holidays in our clinics!
As a reminder, we are closing on 12/24 at 12:30 pm and will remain closed 12/25. We will open clinics at 10:30 am on 12/26.
Our Newberg clinic will be closed all day on 12/24.

Our Newberg office has expanded! With the addition of Dr. Megan Baker and Kathryn Johnson, PA, we now have 6 pediatric providers in a newly-expanded office (same location). Collin Dean, PsyD is now at this office full time for behavioral health. We love taking care of this community!

Now is the time to think ahead about sports physicals for winter sports! We can often sign the OSAA forms for patients who have had checkups in the last year, but your child has not had a checkup in over a year, please make an appointment now for a well child check and we can sign the form then. And, they can get their flu shots at the same time!
