💥Trying to stay warm while resetting my core with some multisegmental rolling.💥

Sometimes I get caught up in all the crazy jumps and lifting, that I forget to bring things back to the basics.
This is bringing it real back... back to the rolling patterns we went through during the developmental cycle as babies! 👶
The goal is to roll over using ONLY one leg, and not using momentum. If you push off of the stationary leg, of use one of your hands to help you flip over, then you’re not isolating those deep core muscles! You’re actually using faulty compensatory strategies.
Studies have shown that if you do this right, you can correctly engage your multifidi muscles (real important back stabilizers 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼)

Kneeling jump to box jump.
Coaching last night I got a few questions on how to master the kneeling jump. First of all, if you have knee issues, this might not be the best exercise for you. But if you want to practice the kneeling portion, try kneeling on some an mats (or something cushiony) and practice hopping on your knees. Remember to use your arms and explosive hip extension to generate momentum. This might give you confidence to eventually follow through with the entire motion.

Apparently you’re supposed to do it with a 10lbs ball so I get extra credit for using the 14 lbs 😬.

Soooooo....... lets talk about burpees. We’ve been doing a lot this week and people tend to short cut them(because they’re exhausting). However, you lose a lot of benefits if you don’t go through the entire motion:

💥 full hip extension aka stand all the way up and squeeze your glutes (very beneficial for hip joint nutrition and glute activation)
💥arms must go fully over head (great for shoulder joint nutrition - as long as you try to keep your arms by your ears)
💥Your feet must leave the ground (if you’re doing the first 2 points correctly, you should have developed enough momentum to get a little hop)

If you’re having knee, hip, back, or shoulder pain, then something needs to be modified (that’s what I’m here for 😉)

It’s cardio testing week at StrengthFarm Performance !!!!!
This is definitely the hardest week for me. Today we did the
3 rounds for time:
25 KB swings
25 burpees
My final time was 6:18. Not my PR but still brutal.
Props to who’s hiding in the corner suffering through this one with me.

When you pass your 1 rep max by 10 pounds on your 3 rep max 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

This girl puts in work every week and it shows. started off seeing me after a meniscus surgery (with history of ACL reconstruction after tearing it playing ). We’ve been running through a 12 week strength program this cycle to get her numbers up and feeling stronger (credit to StrengthFarm Performance for inspiration on the programming).

A few days ago I was trying to get one of my soccer players to work on her explosiveness and had her do some of these . I then decided to film myself doing them to see what my hip extension looked like. This was such a fun way to work on being explosive, and that hip extension I need for my running rehab🏃🏻‍♀️ 💪🏼.
It’s also a great way to let out the RAGEEEE 😬
