A Woman's Time

A Woman's Time We are a woman's natural health care clinic in NW Portland. We see women of all ages, teens included

Clinic Philosophy

We utilize the whole spectrum of health care – alternative and conventional medicine – with the treatment options being individualized to each patient and each clinical situation. This model of health care is called Integrative Medicine – maximizing the strengths of alternative therapies and conventional medicine while minimizing the weaknesses of each. Providing options in the management of menopause issues, women’s health, and the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases are our main missions. We treat each woman individually and as unique by assessing her specific symptoms and identifying her risk factors. We specialize in the treatment of women and see women of all ages with gynecological, hormonal, primary care or general health problems. Part of the success of an integrative model of health care is a strong network of close working relationships with practitioners of all disciplines. The physicians at A Woman’s Time have a special and unique reputation in the medical community as being practitioners who respect all disciplines and the expertise that each has to offer. Our relationships with internists, surgeons, cardiologists, gynecologists, oncologists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, osteopaths, other naturopathic physicians and medical specialists, and allied practitioners is an invaluable resource to our patients. We are able to work closely with your other practitioners on your behalf, and enjoy a robust referral network to and from all practitioners.

Understanding your body starts with identifying what may be triggering it.

Food sensitivities can be explored through approaches like elimination diets, targeted testing, or a combination of both. Each method offers insight into how your body responds to certain foods and helps you make more informed choices.

There is no one size fits all approach. The goal is to support your body, reduce inflammation, and improve how you feel day to day.

Movement is one of the most powerful tools for supporting brain health.

Regular physical activity helps improve blood flow to the brain, supports memory and focus, and plays a key role in regulating mood and stress. Even simple daily movement can enhance cognitive function over time.

You don’t need perfection just consistency. Move your body, support your brain.

Your brain is constantly working behind the scenes and the way you support it matters more than you think.

From healthy fats that build brain cells, to sleep that clears out waste, to the powerful gut brain connection that influences mood and behavior your daily habits shape your cognitive health.

The gut brain axis is a two way communication system where your microbiome plays a key role in how you think, feel, and respond to stress. Supporting your gut can directly support your brain.

First day of spring is the perfect time to reset your rhythm ☀️

Morning sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, supports better sleep, improves mood, and enhances energy throughout the day. Just 10 to 20 minutes of early light exposure can help align your internal clock naturally.

Step outside, soak in the light, and let your body reset with the season.

Did you know movement can directly support your brain?

High intensity interval training can help improve blood flow to the brain, support neuroplasticity, and enhance focus and mood. Even short bursts of movement can make a meaningful difference in cognitive performance.

Consistency matters more than intensity. Start where you are and build gradually.

Your daily food choices play an important role in supporting brain health. Nutrient rich foods such as eggs, fatty fish, seeds, walnuts, olives, green tea, dark chocolate, and mushrooms provide essential fats, antioxidants, and compounds that help support cognitive function.

Limiting highly processed foods, trans fats, sugary drinks, and refined carbohydrates can also help protect brain health and support long term mental clarity.

Consistent, balanced nutrition is a key foundation for cognitive wellbeing.
