Healing into Wholeness

Healing into Wholeness Healing into wholeness is a page that I created with the hope of bringing awareness to mental health and spiritual growth. Together we are very strong.

Please feel free to spread the love and healing that is at the crux of this page and my intention. This is an inspirational page stemming from the work I do as a psychotherapist in Portland, OR. I am passionate about growth work and see our task as taking the path of becoming conscious human beings, living with intention and finding our purpose and passion in this life we have been given. I am constantly inspired by the beauty and the suffering we encounter in our daily life. I would like to share my thoughts, my moments of awe and wonder with whomever might be called to read them and send me their own thoughts and realizations. This life we have been given is precious beyond measures, we just need to slow down enough to notice the many gifts, to take them in, and offer our own to add to the magnificent beauty we get to witness and embody. On another note I would like to let everybody know that none of the photos belong to me. When I know the source I make sure to give credit to the photographer or the original source. Same with the quotes, credit is always given when I do have the information. When you don't see any credit it is because I don't have this information. If you happen to have it and feel inclined to share it please do so.

“ Letting go is not about sacrifice, nor does it breed lazy inactivity; it’s simply a return to Being. It is a shift from an assertive focus on action and results in a softer, intuitive state where you will “be with”, notice, and appreciate what’s in the moment with you. It’s about moving from noise into silence. When done right, letting go is about centering.” Penny Peirce

“Finding the center of strength within ourselves is in the long run the best contribution we can make to our fellow men. ... One person with indigenous inner strength exercises a great calming effect on panic among people around him. This is what our society needs — not new ideas and inventions, important as these are, and not geniuses and supermen, but persons who can "be", that is, persons who have a center of strength within themselves.” Rollo May

“Adversity is a natural part of being human. It is the height of arrogance to prescribe a moral code or health regime or spiritual practice as an amulet to keep things from falling apart. Things do fall apart. It is in their nature to do so. When we try to protect ourselves from the inevitability of change, we are not listening to the soul. We are listening to our fear of life and death, our lack of faith, our smaller ego's will to prevail. To listen to your soul is to stop fighting with life--to stop fighting when things fall apart; when they don't go our away, when we get sick, when we are betrayed or mistreated or misunderstood. To listen to the soul is to slow down, to feel deeply, to see ourselves clearly, to surrender to discomfort and uncertainty and to wait.”

“Understanding the difference between healthy striving and perfectionism is critical to laying down the shield and picking up your life. Research shows that perfectionism hampers success. In fact, it's often the path to depression, anxiety, addiction, and life paralysis.” Brené Brown

"Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk,
Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth."
The Sutta-Nipāta

For a few moments, attune your mind to the idea of harmony and peaceful coexistence flowing among all peoples and nations.
The source of this idea is deep within your heart.
As you calmly breathe in and out, picture it radiating from you like a fine, colored v***r gradually covering the face of the earth.
See it enter the hearts of everyone, especially those stuck in the mad zones.
Feel it circulate everywhere until it comes all the way round and back to you.
This is love in action.
The source of this love is the Tao.
Savor this.” Stephen Russell

“If you have patience, then you'll also have love. Patience leads to love. If you forcefully open the petals of a bud, you won't be able to enjoy its beauty and fragrance. Only when it blossoms by following its natural course, will the beauty and fragrance of a flower unfold.”

“In a true you-and-I relationship, we are present mindfully, non-intrusively, the way we are present with things in nature. We do not tell a birch tree it should be more like an elm. We face it with no agenda, only an appreciation that becomes participation: 'I love looking at this birch' becomes 'I am this birch' and then 'I and this birch are opening to a mystery that transcends and holds us both.” David Richo

“If we could identify one fundamental characteristic in human nature that has been the cause of so much of our suffering, it is this: the illusion that we are separate from each other; from nature; and from Spirit, the divine, or universal creativity.” Barbara Marx Hubbard

“If babies held the same tendency toward self-criticism as adults, they might never learn to walk or talk. Can you imagine infants stomping, ‘Aarggh! Screwed up again!’ Fortunately, babies are free of self-criticism. They just keep practicing.” Dan Millman
