Tesamorelin is a medication that stimulates the natural synthesis of human growth hormone (HGH) in individuals with preserved pituitary function. Compared to other growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) mimetics, tesamorelin has been extensively researched and proven effective. Here are some key points to consider:
🔬 Studies have shown that long-term tesamorelin therapy is highly effective in reducing visceral fat in patients with lipodystrophy. In fact, most trials report a remarkable 10-20% reduction in organ fat after 3-12 months of tesamorelin treatment compared to before the therapy.
⏰ The first effects of the therapy can occur as early as 12 weeks of daily injections. Taking a daily dosage of 2 mg tesamorelin led to an impressive 11.3% higher reduction in visceral fat compared to a placebo.
đź’Ş Tesamorelin therapy offers several proven and potential benefits, including reducing visceral fat, preventing muscle wasting, increasing lean body mass, elevation of HGH and IGF-1 levels, and possible improvement in cognitive function.
đź’‰ Like any medication, tesamorelin does have some potential side effects. The most common ones include local reactions at the injection site, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, or bleeding.
It's important to note that these reactions can occur due to improper administration of the medication. Some patients may also experience edema-related reactions, such as joint and leg pain, swollen legs, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
