Last weekend our restorative justice team was proud to support a fund-raiser concert at The Off Beat (check out this fun all-ages establishment, aka Friends of Noise).

Why were we there? Through our restorative justice practice, we've been working with Emarrion Thomas, who organized and led the fundraiser. Emarrion was a responsible party in one of our recent RJ cases.

The purpose of the concert was part of his efforts (using his musical talents) to raise money needed to repair the harm he caused when he accidentally damaged their property. Emarrion (stage name: RambotheGOAT) and other young, emerging musicians he lined up for the concert gave great performances.

Emarrion and his brother perform a song about restorative justice that was written for this event! All in all, it was a beautiful evening—a perfect example of the meaningful potential that restorative justice holds. In terms of learning what it means to take accountability and meet needs of the harmed party.

If you missed the event and would like to contribute to help compensate the harmed party, there's still time: https://gofund.me/791befd6d

🎉 Big news! Today we officially opened our newest office in Gresham. This location provides behavioral health counseling and is home base for our school-based wellbeing outreach.

We’re so excited to bring behavioral services to East Multnomah County!

City of Gresham Mayor Travis Stovall and Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Lynn Snodgrass joined us for a ribbon cutting. We were honored by warm welcomes from officials from both organizations, as well as dozens of other guests from our partner agencies and elsewhere!

The office at 2072 NE Burnside Road serves as a hub for trauma-informed counseling and case management, delivered by a multilingual, multicultural team. It reflects our commitment to meeting people where they are — both geographically and culturally — and ensuring that behavioral health care is inclusive, respectful, and effective.

We’re grateful for the enthusiastic welcome from the Gresham community and look forward to deepening our impact in the area.

Thank you to the many people who made this day a success!

Looking for a festive outing with a purpose on these chilly fall evenings?

Next month, our restorative justice practice is proud to invite you to Restorative Rhythms: A Community Concert and Restorative Justice Fundraiser

It's happening Saturday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Off Beat, 8440 N Interstate Ave, Portland, OR, 97217

Money from this event and related fundraising will go toward $5,000 in compensation for the party in this case that was harmed.

Any funds raised beyond the goal will support compensation for harmed parties that participate in restorative justice work with LCSNW's Portland Community Justice Partnership practice.

Anyone who'd like to contribute to the compensation fund may do so here: https://gofund.me/791befd6d

The event will include performances by local musical artists, raffle prizes, and an information fair for other local restorative justice providers.

A big "thank you" to everyone who joined us Saturday for our first in-person fundraiser since 2019! We appreciate your contributions so much -- you are what enables us to continue providing behavioral health services, housing, employment support and much more to thousands of clients each year!

Held at Warner Pacific University in southeast Portland, the theme of our luncheon was “Many Cultures | One Community.”

Pastor Emillie Binja, former LCSNW client and current LCSNW Board Member, gave the keynote.

Forest Song sang lovely Ukrainian folk songs during mealtime.

We look forward to more in-person gatherings with our supporters!
