Did you know you could share your Float credits with others? Purchases of most float sessions and packages can be transferred to other users and most service credits expire after one year. All sessions take place during a two hour appointment block, which gives you time to shower before and after, allowing 80 minutes of tank time! If you have a Float credit you want to turn into a gift card give us a call or stop by the shop. We can send that gift card by email or post.

It’s spring cleaning time. For us a Float Harder it is always cleaning time. We have a staff who pride themselves in being clean freaks. It’s required for the job. Our tank the water is filtered between each float session. The water cycles through a one micron carbon filter which purifies it to the same quality as drinking water. It is infused with ozone and treated with UV Light as well as Hydrogen Peroxide. This three step filtration process is repeated three times between each float. Our staff is carefully trained to sanitize the shower, float tank and other high touch areas with an EPA certified disinfectant before the next float begins. Linens and float accoutrements are fully refreshed for each guest.

Floating is very beneficial to the skin and has been known to soothe skin conditions. Those with skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis are welcome to float but should proceed with caution. While research has shown that Epsom salt can be beneficial for these conditions, it may also exacerbate symptoms in some individuals if they’re dealing with a flareup.

The magnesium in the water of the float tank helps the overall appearance of our skin by lowering cortisol levels, stabilising our hormonal balance and improving cellular processes. It is naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial and can help detoxify our body and clear up skin irritations. Those with skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis are welcome to float but should proceed with caution. While research has shown that Epsom salt can be beneficial for these conditions, it may also exacerbate symptoms in some individuals if they are having a flare up.

Frequently asked, “ do you change the salt solution after each session?” We do not. Each one person tank has 1000 pounds of Epsom salt dissolved by the water. The water is filtered between each float session. The water cycles through a one micron carbon filter which purifies it to the same quality as drinking water. It is infused with ozone and treated with UV Light as well as Hydrogen Peroxide. This three step filtration process is repeated three times between each float. We have the water tested every week and add salt as needed. Each one of those bags of salt is 50 pounds and we do sell those big bags at the shop.

Floating is considered a holistic way of maintaining the body because it simultaneously addresses physical, mental, and emotional well-being by creating a state of deep, zero-gravity relaxation. It promotes homeostasis (internal balance) by relieving joint pressure, reducing cortisol, improving sleep, reducing anxiety, and allowing muscles to recover, providing a comprehensive “reset” for the entire system.

Because the water is neither warmer nor cooler than the body, the skin receptors stop reporting temperature differences to the brain. When combined with the weightlessness of the high-density salt water, you lose the sensation of where your body ends and the water begins. This allows the brain to “let go” of sensory input, leading to profound mental and physical relaxation.
