I am another yourself.
There is no us.
There is no them.
There is only one.
They are us.
We are them.
We are all a part of where we find ourselves today.
We choose inequality.
We choose war.
We choose climate change.
We choose animal cruelty.
We choose hatred.
We choose bigotry.
We choose injustice.
Until we understand they are us, we will continue to choose to blame them.
The question of our time is not how we change them or he or she or it. It is not how we make them be more like us or to stop them being them. The question is, “how do we live with our differences?”
A commitment to the foundational thinking of One People is not passive. It takes tremendous effort.
It means transforming the conflict of our time, our place, our world with new perspectives. Perspectives that will:
Include, not separate.
Transform, not subdue.
Invite in, not shut out.
Inform, not censor.
Create, not destroy.
Corroborate, not contradict.
Demonstrate, not conceal.
Share, not take.
Unify, not divide.
