Rediscovering Food

Rediscovering Food Rediscovering food through mindful eating to live a happier, healthier life Do you ever feel ashamed of eating certain foods, or guilty after you’ve eaten them?

Have you tried to lose weight by counting calories, or avoiding certain types of foods, or only eating certain times of the day? Do you wish you had more energy, or that you could be more active in your life? If any of this is true for you, I can relate. As you will see by looking at my story, I lost over 100 pounds, and my life has been completely changed. And one of the best parts is, I did it without going on a diet, and I enjoy food more now than I ever did when I was heavy. I’ve learned to love all aspects of it, rediscovering food and my relationship with it. It was after losing weight that I realized I wasn’t alone in this process. I discovered the Am I Hungry?® program, which teaches many of the same approaches I learned on my own. By focusing on why, when, what, how, and how much you eat, you may discover that you are eating for many more reasons than simple hunger, and that you spend your energy always thinking about food. These principles agreed so much with my own that I became a licensed facilitator for the program. If you want to make a permanent, lifestyle change to lead a more mindful and vibrant life, go to my website and take a look at the Am I Hungry?® tab to see the courses schedule.

• A JOYful Perspective • Some people could be given an entire field of roses and only see the thorns in it. Others could be given a single w**d and only see the wildflower in it. Perception is a key component to gratitude. And gratitude a key component to joy. ~Amy Weatherly

A recent episode of "The Pitt" got me thinking about weight bias in the healthcare industry, and how I hope things are changing.

Note: This will have a few spoilers for season 2, episode 8 of the show The Pitt. Weight bias in the healthcare industry is unfortunately nothing new. I experienced it myself when I was in college, when a doctor insinuated that I got a staph infection because I was overweight and therefore must be u...

In the end, we're all only human.

We all make mistakes, take actions that were not in our best interest or good for others, and we go “all in” for some choices that we end up saying, “What was I thinking?”

We are human beings not perfect but we are a work in progress.

This means that our poor choices and less than ideal actions do not define who we are, unless we are not learning what they have to teach us. 😳

Grow from every experience in your life loves. You are a magnificent human being. 💯💪❤️
