Great and meaningful conversations were had today at Cremation Planning Lunch & Learn!

We had the opportunity to spend time with about 25 people in our brand-new facility, having real, honest conversations about cremation—what it looks like, how to plan ahead, and how to create something meaningful for the people you love. As the Cremation Experts in Greater Portland, these are the conversations we care deeply about. We’re grateful to be a trusted resource for families in our community.

Afterward, everyone enjoyed some incredible food from The Dunn Bar Irish Pub and amazing desserts from Tonys Donuts Maine — which made a great afternoon even better.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us. If you weren’t able to make it and want to learn more about cremation planning, we’re always here for you.

A huge congratulations to our good friends Stephen Nee and Curt Magnuson on their well-earned retirements.

More than 30 years of service to the City of Portland is something truly special — a lifetime of showing up, doing the job the right way, and taking care of this community. That kind of dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and it certainly doesn’t get forgotten.

We’re grateful for your service, proud to know you both, and wishing you nothing but the very best in this next chapter. Enjoy every minute — you’ve more than earned it.

Tonight, and for the rest of April, our building is glowing blue in recognition of Autism Awareness Day and Autism Acceptance Month. 💙

At Conroy-Tully Walker, we’re proud to be part of a community that supports, understands, and embraces individuals and families with autism.

It’s a small gesture, but an important reminder to lead with patience, kindness, and acceptance in everything we do.

We’re proud to be locally owned, and we truly love being a part of the City of South Portland community.

Being part of this community means showing up—especially when it comes to honoring our veterans and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We’re proud to support the Hometown Heroes Banner Campaign and will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000.

We challenge other local businesses to join us—step up, match, give, and help make this a powerful tribute across our community.

Let’s honor our Hometown Heroes the way they deserve.

👉 Donate here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/hometown-heroes-banner-campaign

The City is working with the Hometown Heroes Committee to create a citywide memorial to our local service members who fell during wartime. Will you donate to help us raise $9,000 by May 1, 2026 to have photo banners of our fallen soldiers placed on telephone poles at locations across the city this summer? Contribute at: southportland.gov/donate

If you would prefer to contribute by check, please make your check payable to the City of South Portland and mail to City Hall, 25 Cottage Rd., South Portland, ME 04106. Please write "Banner Fund" in the memo line.

After nearly 11 years of dedicated service, Alissa (Dodds) Thompson has made the decision to step back from funeral service to focus on her family.

While we are very sad to see her leave our team and the funeral profession, we are incredibly grateful for the compassion and care she has shown to the many families she has served. She has always put others first—both families and her coworkers—and that speaks volumes about who she is.

We are proud of her growth from a young inexperienced Funeral Director when she joined us in 2015, to being a tremendous and seasoned professional today. We are thankful for her loyalty to our funeral home, to the community, and to the families she’s cared for over the years.

If Alissa has made a difference in your life or the life of someone you love, please share a comment below so we can celebrate her impact. 💙

The Conroy-Tully Walker Difference

We believe the most valuable thing we do cannot be seen or touched - it is the compassionate care that only a family owned funeral home and cremation provider can offer.

As the only funeral home in Portland, Maine, owned by a Funeral Director, we specialize in providing first-class services and compassionate care to the families of our community. We hold ourselves and our staff to the highest standards of excellence. We are the experts you need and the ones you can trust to help you through planning a final farewell.

ARE ALL FUNERAL HOMES THE SAME?

Staff, facilities and resources converge to impact the quality of service funeral homes may provide a grieving family. Though distinctive in many ways, we believe there are five key areas that set Conroy-Tully Walker apart from other funeral homes serving Greater Portland.
