This week, we celebrated a BIG work anniversary for Ashley, our fearless leader and the backbone of the Harvest Homes community. Ashley brings care and calm to any situation and always puts residents and her team first. In the last year, alone, Ashley has led us through two deficiency-free state surveys and a Joint Commission Accreditation. We are grateful for Ashley’s hard work and commitment to our community!

You never know what you might learn at Harvest Homes’s daily Stand Up and Clinical meetings or monthly All Staff meetings. The Harvest Homes team is leading the way in transforming their staff education to make it creative, engaging, and accessible. Whether the Maintenance Team is demonstrating how to use the new eye wash stations or the Behavioral Support Team is performing a skit showcasing de-escalation strategies, the Harvest Homes community is committed to learning together in fun, ingenious, and memorable ways.

These fall days are made for walking. Harvest Homes residents enjoy getting outside in the fresh air, exploring campus and the neighborhood, visiting the chickens, and seeing what they can see.

Harvest Homes had a wonderful and meaningful Veterans Day celebration. We started off by recognizing our community’s Veterans, then we gathered together to watch the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery, and finally we had fun creating a Veterans Day-themed craft.

Harvest Homes residents had fun learning about National Chicken Lady Day on November 4th. This day honors Dr. Marthenia “Tina” Dupree, also known as “The Chicken Lady,” who was the longtime Director of Community Relations and Training for the Church’s Chicken Organization. In 2001, President George W. Bush proclaimed November 4th as Chicken Lady Day to recognize Dr. Dupree’s commitment to community development and educational improvement.

Harvest Homes residents painted chickens in bright and unconventional colors to recognize this remarkable woman and her unique recognition day.
