My name is JoLee Scott. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University. More recently I graduated with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University. Truth isn’t just something you know.
It’s something your body has to feel safe carrying.

If you were mocked, dismissed, punished, or invalidated for speaking up, your nervous system made an adjustment.
Silence became protection.

That wasn’t weakness.
That was adaptation.

But survival strategies aren’t the same thing as alignment.

The biggest red flag with a narcissist isn’t their confidence or charm.
It’s what happens to you over time.

Most women don’t realize that second-guessing, rehearsing conversations, tracking tone, or carefully choosing words are the red flags that matter.

They start to believe healthy relationships require constant monitoring.

But when clarity fades and your effort increases, that’s not growth.
That’s your nervous system adapting to instability.

Over time, that strain feels normal, and self-doubt sets in.

The most important red flags aren’t in them.
They’re in how small you feel.

A lot of what I share on the socials is from the lens of dating after narcissistic relationships. Not because everyone I date is a narcissist —
but because once you’ve lived in emotional imbalance, your nervous system is on high alert to notice things and to notice them faster. What is noticed may or may not be the date’s problem but it IS a problem.
