Classical Pearls

Classical Pearls Classical Pearls Herbal Formulas™ are unique Chinese herbal formulations designed for the treatmen

OUR APPROACH IS SIMPLE

We manage the sourcing, production and formulation of the highest quality ingredients into unique and potent formulations based on the classical medical texts, and fine-tuned to treat modern patients suffering from the complex diseases of our times. Herbal medicine was once the only modality to cure serious diseases. Today, the intricate alchemical principles and the experi

ence based approach of traditional herbal science has become overshadowed by laboratory parameters—often to the detriment of clinical results. It is the mission of Classical Pearls to launch a return to the classical and clinic-based roots of Chinese herbal medicine. A RETURN TO THE CLINICAL POWER OF OUR ROOTS

Classical Pearls is proud to be part of an international movement that seeks to honor and restore the classical origins of Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is a highly sophisticated science and deeply spiritual art form. We believe in trusting what history has taught us – that Chinese herbal formulation is based on simple foundational principles that are often ignored or misunderstood in the construct of modern TCM education. With our formulas and the core educational concepts behind them, our goal is to preserve the true clinical power and efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine. OUR FORMULAS HAVE EVOLVED FROM CLASSICAL MEDICAL TEXTS

Each of our remedies incorporates principles of classical formula design synthesized from the ancient texts of Oriental medicine and a variety of classical lineage approaches. Based on over two decades of clinical experience, tightly structured classical formulas have been combined and fine-tuned to the modern diseases of our time. It is our sincere hope that the study and use of the Classical Pearls series of products can help Oriental medicine practitioners increase their clinical efficacy and gain a better understanding of the time-honored principles of alchemical wisdom that are gradually being forgotten.

🪵Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) is one of Chinese medicine’s most powerful warming herbs. Harvested from mature cinnamon trees, its bark strengthens the Fire at the Gate of Vitality (Mingmen), warms the interior, and guides heat back to the source. In classical formulas, Rougui is often used to rescue depleted yang, move cold stagnation, and support deep, chronic conditions where warmth is needed most.

"I have studied with Heiner in an online continuing education capacity, have been thoroughly taken by his discussions of Gu Syndrome since finding them in 2011 or so, and his previous podcast discussions with Laurie Regan. I have the highest regard for his vast awareness and knowledge of Chinese culture, history, and ancient & modern trends in Chinese medicine. It is with joy and confidence that I recommend Classical Pearls formulations for my patients. Last year I began migrating patients to Classical Pearls (which I order through Golden Needle supply). I also greatly enjoy the content on Classical Pearl’s social profiles. "

“Natural” doesn’t always mean gentle 🌿

In Chinese medicine, herbs are powerful tools—not just supplements. The right formula depends on careful pattern differentiation, proper dosage, and clinical experience.

What makes something safe isn’t just that it’s natural—it’s how and when it’s used.

Its and this week were highlighting Lightning Pearls ⚡

The design of Lightning Pearls reflects a unique approach to the difficult and recalcitrant problem of chronic inflammatory disease. It is based on the Qing dynasty remedy Jiajian Su He Tang (Perilla and Mint Decoction Modified), and represents a time-honored solution for the important clinical phenomenon of “Brain Gu Syndrome”: treatment resistant diseases caused by infections of the nervous system. Lightning Pearls aims to not only counteract pathogens, but also to treat terrain issues associated with various deficiencies in the patient’s qi, yin, and Blood. Lightning Pearls can be considered to be a more constitutional and long-term version of the Fever School’s flagship remedy Yin Qiao San (Honeysuckle and Forsythia Powder), and is thus also suitable to treat external invasions, or for preventing them during air travel.

That moment when something quietly shifts inside you—
when clarity appears without force, like clouds parting in the night sky.

In Chinese medicine, this is the movement of shen—subtle, unseen, yet deeply felt.
Not something we control, but something we make space for.

In Chinese medicine, quality begins long before an herb is processed.
didao yaocai points to the importance of place and timing—recognizing that true potency arises when a plant grows in its native environment and is harvested at the right moment.

This is a standard we continue to uphold at Classical Pearls.

It's and this week were highlighting Metal Pearls 💙

The formulation of Metal Pearls is based on the case histories of the Northern Chinese master physician Dr. Wu Sheng’an, whose approach to difficult and recalcitrant diseases reflects the lineages of the imperial court physician Zhu Mulin and the middle and upper burner teachings of the 18th century clinician Huang Kunzai. This unique herb combination represents a primary way to regulate symptoms of stuck qi by reversing physical and emotional counterflow via the Lung and yangming networks, transforming phlegm, and nourishing Lung yin.

Bai He (Lily Bulb) has long been valued in Chinese medicine for its ability to nourish Lung yin, moisten dryness, and calm the spirit.

The quality of Bai He depends not only on the species, but on the soil, climate, and careful post-harvest processing that preserves its natural sweetness and medicinal integrity.

In Chinese medicine, the drying process is part of the medicine-making tradition itself. Careful harvesting, proper drying, and protection from light and moisture help preserve the herb’s essential oils and therapeutic qualities.

This is why sourcing and processing matter so much. When herbs are handled with care from field to formula, their potency and clinical effectiveness can remain remarkably stable over time.

Not all dried herbs are created equal—and the difference often lies in the details behind how they’re prepared. 🌿
