Dr. Russell Eugene Tranbarger broke barriers and reshaped nursing through a lifetime of advocacy, leadership, and education. The first man to lead many major nursing organizations, he championed gender equality in the profession, reformed North Carolina’s Nurse Practice Act, and helped elevate nursing education and administration nationwide.
