Today, President Trump signed an Executive Order to expedite the rescheduling of cannabis. Cannabis moving toward Schedule III could be the biggest federal shift in decades. It signals medical recognition, opens research, and removes (some) of the stigma that’s held cannabis and its associated industries back.

Clearer federal positioning could bring better banking access, fewer compliance gray zones, and more confidence for retailers and partners. But it doesn’t equal legalization.

It does reduce friction across the industry. For CBD brands (like us) it could also mean increased oversight from the FDA as our core ingredient moves into more medical and clinical applications.

Remember… an EO isn’t instant law. We’re guessing months, not weeks. There’s agency review, public comment, then likely final DEA action.

So, yes, this is still meaningful momentum for cannabis. It won’t, however, change things overnight or guarantee that this industry is “safe.”

In a social media post, President Donald Trump expressed support for CBD in senior healthcare. The US President posted a video endorsing CBD for seniors, stating that the cannabinoid could “revolutionize senior healthcare”.

The video touted CBD as a means to help reduce disease progression and was shown as an alternative to prescription drugs.

In August, Trump had said his administration was looking to reclassify ma*****na. Changing classification could result in increased research, simpler banking and financial services for businesses, and reduce criminal penalties around its use.
