When I was 9 years old, I started a circus with my sister and a few of our friends. This photo is from one of our many “acts”.

I was actually a shy kid, but I was determined to see our production succeed. I even called the local newspaper to ask for press coverage. To my surprise, he showed up, took photos, and we became local legends! (In our own minds at least.)

This Sunday, we’re gathering again for Women Write and Wine to write, reflect, and discuss our theme of COURAGE.

This month’s Women Write and Wine is all about courage. What does this mean? Being brave? Playing bigger? Taking risks? In a times that feel heavy and uncertain, little acts of courage matter. Come explore, write and sip a glass of wine, cup of tea or a kombucha.

Women Write and Wine in March is all about BLOOMING. Change and growth aren’t always smooth sailing.

Sometimes it’s damn awkward. Sometimes we find ourselves in the messy middle of who we used to be and who we are becoming.

As a student and counselor in training, I’m facing this every day. And guess what helps? Drum roll please...Writing it all out in my journal!

I chose Blooming as the theme for Women Write & Wine in March because it seems like I am always in the process of reinventing or reimagining myself in some way. Can anyone relate?

Blooming is about being in the messy middle of who we are becoming. And being ok with it. (Not always easy.)
