We're happy to announce Cary Spaeth is joining Yoga Refuge!

Cary will be offering a Saturday morning class at our Northwest location.

Join Cary Saturdays for
Hatha Flow 9:30-10:45am
at Yoga Refuge NW

I have been a dedicated practitioner of Yoga for more than half my life, and have been teaching for over a decade. I have studied in-depth with Sarah Trelease (my primary teacher, from whom I received certification to teach Hatha + Vinyasa yoga) and countless others. My approach to teaching is conversational, inviting, intuitive, differentiated to the best of my capacities in the moment, and reverent to the headwaters of this most generous wisdom tradition. Above all else,
my offerings are grounded in my experience as a researcher of my own practice. In my classes you can expect a blend of the styles I have been fortunate to learn through practicing them. I
share what is alive in me at a breathable pace, with a keen curiosity about the subtlety of real-time change. I am also a death doula + grief worker, a devotee of dogs, of language and the phenomenal ephemera that backs it up, and a (newly) licensed public high school Language Arts teacher participating in this most grand experiment while attempting to remember what it’s all about.

Awaken the Senses:
Restorative Yoga, Handcrafted Chocolate
and an Exploration of the Chakras
with Zsuzsanna Mangu

Saturday, November 22nd 2-4pm
at Yoga Refuge Northwest

An immersive evening of restorative yoga, meditation, and sensory exploration.

This workshop brings together yoga and handmade chocolate to awaken presence, deepen awareness, and open the senses. Yoga invites us to slow down and reconnect with the body. Chocolate, when made with attention and enjoyed mindfully, becomes a pathway to taste, texture, and energy that can amplify this inner journey. Together, they create a space where movement, stillness, and sensory experience meet.

In this workshop, we’ll focus on the first (Root) and fourth (Heart) chakras, the energetic centers of grounding, safety, love, and compassion.

The Root chakra (Muladhara) anchors us to the earth, offering stability, trust, and a deep sense of belonging. The Heart chakra (Anahata) opens us to connection, compassion, and the flow of love, both giving and receiving. When these two centers are in balance, we feel rooted yet open, strong yet tender, held by the earth and guided by the heart.

Throughout this workshop, you’ll be guided through restorative yoga and meditation practices that prepare the body and mind to fully experience these flavors. Together, we’ll explore the chakras, the body’s energetic centers that connect our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves, through both movement and mindful tasting.

By slowing down and engaging the senses, this workshop offers a grounding practice that brings balance, nourishes the spirit, and awakens deeper awareness.

Slow down with the season 🍂

As the leaves fall, nature reminds us to slow down—and Yin Yoga is a wonderful way to do just that.

Did you know we offer 7 Yin classes each week? (9 if you count our Gentle Hatha + Yin and Slow Flow + Yin classes!)

Yin Yoga invites stillness and deep relaxation. In this slow, mostly floor-based practice, postures are held for longer periods, allowing the body to release tension and the mind to quiet down.

This practice also nourishes the body on a deeper level—targeting connective tissue (fascia), bones, and joints. By gently stretching and hydrating these tissues, Yin Yoga creates more space for effortless movement, better circulation, and calm within.

Take a moment this season to pause, breathe, and make space—inside and out. ✨

A couple of reminders for the safety and health of our community 🙏

💚 Please plan to arrive early to class if possible. We open 15 minutes before scheduled class time and preregistration is required. Our front door is locked upon class start. We completely understand traffic and other factors can cause delays in getting to the studio–but unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate late arrivals after class has begun.

💚 Please don't attend studio classes when you're sick. We appreciate your care in keeping our community well, including our teachers!

Kriya Yoga Journey + Gong Sound Bath
with Laura Li Fong Yee
on Saturday, November 1st 1-3pm

Join in community for a powerful Himalayan Kriya Kundalini yoga class followed by an extended Gong Sound Bath. We will focus on the root chakra for this session to cultivate stability, groundedness, fearlessness and centeredness.

Kriya Kundalini Yoga is a practice designed to stimulate and clear energy, release blockages and elevate your consciousness. It includes asanas (body postures), pranayama (breathwork), and mantra (intentional, repeated sounds) which will help prepare the body and mind for a prolonged Savasana meditation accompanied by a Gong Sound Bath. The Gong is said to contain all the sounds of the Universe and heals whatever needs to be healed. This practice will invite relaxation and renewal. It can be especially beneficial for those who have difficulty quieting the mind during meditation or sound baths.
