Yoga Refuge PDX We have two beautiful yoga studios (SE Montavilla and Northwest 17th) with expert teachers, diverse class styles and a welcoming community.

Yoga Refuge is a beautiful yoga studio located in the heart of the Montavilla neighborhood, conveniently located for Portland's outer East side. We are a school that examines yoga as both a contemplative and creative process. Our teachers are knowledgeable, skillful and passionate about supporting students of all levels in the creation of a meaningful yoga practice. We offer a wide range of styles, inclusive to different ages, bodies and abilities. Our regular schedule will have all of your favorites: Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and more. Please welcome Gianna Clark to Yoga Refuge!

We're happy to announce .grownwild will be teaching two Vinyasa classes at our NW studio starting tomorrow!

In her own words:
I teach yoga as a practice, not a performance.
My classes prioritize presence over appearance and sensation over shape. I guide breath-led, thoughtfully paced movement that supports nervous system regulation, strength, and self-trust, encouraging students to notice what’s real in their bodies rather than chasing expectations.

I offer clear cues, intentional sequencing, and space to listen inward. This practice builds strength and awareness by listening to the body rather than pushing past it.

Outside the studio, I’m studying herbal medicine and living in closer relationship with seasonal and cyclical rhythms, allowing these practices to inform how I teach and live. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Mark Balfe-Taylor and a 50-hour yin yoga training with Kristina Blunt, and I hold deep respect for the teachers and lineages that continue to shape my practice.

I look forward to practicing with you soon!

Still Waters: A Journey Through Yin and Reiki

Sink into serenity with Still Waters, a deeply nourishing 2-hour workshop guided by Tracey Coleman and Katrina Cantu. This sacred space blends the stillness of Yin Yoga, the gentle power of Reiki, the grounding of breathwork, and the vibrational magic of a closing sound bath.

You’ll be guided through a meditative Yin sequence by Tracey, supported by intuitive hands-on and distance Reiki from both Tracey and Katrina. As your body melts into stillness, Katrina will lead you through conscious breathwork practices to deepen your connection to the present moment, and close the experience with a deeply restorative sound bath to soothe your nervous system and seal in the healing.

What to Expect:
Yin Yoga led by Tracey: Long, supported postures designed to open the body and access deep energetic release.
Reiki Energy Healing intuitively shared by both Katrina & Tracey throughout the practice.
Breathwork guided by Katrina to anchor you into your body and breath.
Sound Bath led by Katrina using healing frequencies to bring balance and calm.

This workshop is ideal for anyone needing to slow down, recharge, and reconnect—no experience with Reiki or yoga is necessary. Just bring yourself, an open heart, and a willingness to receive.

These 3 workshop-style classes are designed to support brand-new beginners or those who are interested in establishing a safe and effective yoga practice that can last a lifetime.

-How to nurture a resilient nervous system with the power of yoga.
