As mother and daughter, we're both Medical Assistants in the clinic – and we each thank Outside In for saving our lives.

BEVERLEY
I’m alive today because of Outside In. I got clean. I survived.
Years ago, when I left nursing school, I always said, “I missed my calling.” Now I realize I didn’t miss my calling. This is my calling.

BECCA
When I came to the Outside In clinic, my provider listened deeply. I realized this was a place where I was going to be able to get real help without judgment.
And that planted the seed: Maybe I could do something like that.
Recently, I graduated from the Medical Assistant apprenticeship program and became a full MA. Outside In is where I plan to have my career.

We’re on the ground level, doing what we can to provide a supportive environment for people in our community.

Outside In thanks all the warriors who have worked on preventing these losses and encourages everyone to be up to date on their HIV status and to talk to our providers about how to prevent HIV.

As mother and daughter, we're both Medical Assistants in the clinic – and we each thank Outside In for saving our lives.

We want to share our story because we see first-hand the difference we make every day. Especially now, we need to keep our doors open.

BEVERLEY
I was an Outside In patient. I felt safe here, treated without judgment. In my 20s I started going from one more serious addiction to another. When my daughter Becca was in her teens, her behavior was why I stayed loaded.

BECCA
More than 10 years ago now, I was out of control. I started self-medicating. I was hospitalized multiple times. I felt like the only way out was to die. We survived – and we’ve thrived. Read our story and consider giving to Outside In today.
