Yoga for your mind, body, and spirit Shanti Om is a Yoga studio located in the heart of St. Johns.

At our yoga classes in North Portland you can expect thoughtful, safe, and fun opportunities for your growth, health, and well-being. We offer a range of opportunities for brand new beginners, as well as those who have some experience under their belt. Our classes are heart centered which means there is a strong emphasis on love and acceptance of all that you bring to the practice--including your thoughts, body, and history. We start with loving what is while opening up to the possibilities of practice. Every one is encouraged to honor their body and to pay deep attention to the breath. We give a lot of instruction on the breath as we think first and foremost that the breath is the alchemical force in the practice. Most importantly, our classes encourage reflection and attentiveness to the present moment- opening up to the freshness and aliveness that is right in front of us, right here and now. While our classes reflect multiple sources and traditions you'll see a strong emphasis on alignment, while also providing opportunities for slow flows, and build up in some classes to more challenging poses such as arm balances, deep backbends, and inversions. We encourage you to come practice with us for these heart opening and inspiring classes!

Hey ShantiOm, during the autumn months we reached 600 followers here on instagram! It’s so wonderful to think about the many Yogis who have passed through the studio and enjoyed the experience enough to follow us on the journey. Thank you for being a part of the community and for sharing the word about us to help us grow. Also sending much love and gratitude to the wonderful and welcoming group of teachers that offer a safe space for us to practice and learn all things Yoga.

During Monday's Restorative Alignment class, Roberto helped our students address sticky shoulders and take gentle care of ache-y knees. As an Iyengar-trained teacher, Roberto brings his own props to help students strengthen their mental and physical connection to their spines, pelvis, and abdomen. We are so lucky to have Roberto's decades of experiences serving our community.

Our Story

Welcome to Shanti Om Yoga, the one and only Portland yoga studio with Ayurveda services. Nestled in the heart of St. Johns, Portland, we offer a diverse schedule of yoga classes including Hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, prenatal yoga, gentle yoga and restorative yoga. We also have Ayurveda services like shirodhara, individual wellness counseling, and private Ayurveda yoga sessions and monthly workshops and events.
