Multi-site T1D study: Seeking volunteers to test a new closed loop system developed at OHSU called iPancreas that has the ability to detect missed meal boluses. Study sites include OHSU, Univ. of Washington in Seattle and MultiCare Rockwood in Spokane.

If type 1 diabetes is in your family, you may be able to screen for risk, free of charge, in Corvallis on Saturday, January 28, 2023, 9am to 1pm.

The location: Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave, Corvallis, OR 97330

The screening is offered through TrialNet, an international network of researchers seeking ways to delay or prevent type 1 diabetes.
Who can be screened? Anyone between the ages of 2 ½ and 45 with a sibling, child, or parent with type 1 diabetes; or anyone between the ages of 2 ½ and 20 with a cousin, half-sibling, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, niece, or grandparent with type 1 diabetes. Sign up in advance, or walk-ins welcome. For more information, please call 800-888-4187 or email diabetes@benaroyaresearch.org.

The test is a simple blood draw that can identify the earliest stages of type 1 diabetes years before symptoms appear. If testing shows you are at increased risk, you can be closely monitored and may be eligible to take part in clinical studies to slow down or stop disease progression.
