Happy birthday to us! 🎉On this day back in 1924, Shriners Children's Portland opened its doors with a mission that is still carried out 102 years later - to provide the most amazing care anywhere to kids, regardless of insurance status or the family's ability to pay.

Hadley's sister Piper was diagnosed with the rare bone disease fibrous dysplasia when she was 3 years old. The condition required several surgeries over the years as her bones grew, and despite living in Arizona, her family decided the best care available was right here at Shriners Children's Portland. For her 9th birthday, Hadley asked that instead of gifts, her friends get her toys that she could donate. She flew all the way up from Arizona just to deliver them. Thank you so much for your kindness! ♥️

A huge Shriners Children's Portland THANK YOU to the Portland Trail Blazers. Several coaches, players and even Blaze and Douglas Fur came to the hospital this week and made some lasting memories with our patients. We are grateful for such an incredible experience for all and honored to be part of Rip City!

Patient ambassador Justin fondly remembers the impact donated toys and stuffed animals had on him as a patient and wanted to impart that to others. For his second year organizing a toy drive, he scaled it up this year. He not only collected toys at his high school through the Heritage High School Future Business Leaders of America, but he worked to set up collection boxes with several local businesses in Vancouver, resulting in collecting nearly 250 items to donate to the hospital. Thank you so much for your efforts, Justin!

A huge Shriners Children's Portland THANK YOU to Mary Culbertson (center), a Scentsy consultant. For the past several years, she has been running a giving campaign where her clients can purchase a Scentsy Buddy to donate to kids at our hospital once a year. She has donated several hundred over the years, and provided more smiles than we can count. Thank you for all you do!
