Spring Equinox has sprung upon us. The seeds are sprouting, the cherry and plum blossoms are blooming, daffodils are flowering, and liver qi is flowing (at least we hope it is) In traditional Chinese Medicine Spring is the color green, like leaves on trees. Itβs element is wood like the trees that are blossoming and growing new leaves. Itβs emotion is anger and governed by the liver. The liver is responsible for moving the energizing and expansive energy of Spring through our body. It is in Spring that we often see a rise in liver imbalance symptoms. Common symptoms of liver imbalance are:
Anger, depression, shoulder and neck tension, headaches and dizziness, menstrual disorders ( pms, irregular, or painful me**es), digestive upset ( ibs or indigestion)
If your liver is in need of some balancing try nourishing it! Eat greens, brassicas, beers, and goji berries. Keep moving your body gently, if you need additional assistance come get acupuncture from Genevieve (a magical human)
