I began my journey into the world of healthcare while receiving my education at East West College of Healing Arts. I remember there was a defining moment where I knew that I had made the best decision of my life by deciding to become a massage therapist, and was actually the first day I started working as a Chiropractic Assistant at Healthsource of Hillsboro. I highly anticipated being able to help the patients there with therapeutic techniques that I learned there.
After obtaining my license, I began to work as a full time massage therapist at the clinic while continuing my CA work. One of my most valued mentors is a massage therapist who I worked alongside with from day one at the clinic. He showed me some of the best techniques to use to help get clients back to where they needed to be to resume their activities of daily living and achieve a better quality of life, specifically those that had been in motor vehicle accidents, worker's compensation claims, and of course daily "life" injuries.
After working at the Hillsboro clinic, I decided to add more massage modalities to my tool belt and moved over to Oregon City Chiropractic and Auto Injury. After taking several continuing education classes at the Oregon City Clinic, I specialized in Prenatal and Post Pregnancy massage as well as Hot Stone, while continuing to work with (MVA) clients. After each pregnancy massage session I feel so fulfilled and grateful that they have let me be a part of their experience of bringing life into this world!
Of the many different modalities I have learned over my career, I focus on Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Swedish, Pregnancy massage and the Japanese form of massage, Shiatsu. As a person who views balance as very important, I enjoy incorporating both Eastern and Western techniques into every massage session. I find that a combination of these techniques in each session improves my quality of care to each client, whether they are coming into the session after a motor vehicle accident, with a bad headache or for some much needed stress relief. I aim to give each client a relaxing yet therapeutic massage experience. The feeling of helping my clients relax their bodies and minds brings me so much joy, and it is this feeling that has kept me and will continue to keep me going in this wonderful field of work!
