Last week, our teams came together for Martin’s Point’s Spring Week of Service.
With 160+ participants supporting more than 20 nonprofit partners, our employees rolled up their sleeves to give back in meaningful ways. From assembling wellness kits and race materials to creating over 600 journals for local teachers, every project helped strengthen the communities we serve.
We’re grateful to partner with organizations like the Center for Grieving Children, YMCA Camp of Maine, Cross Roads House, Girls on the Run NH, Ruth’s Reusable Resources, Southern Maine Agency on Aging, and Best Buddies - just to name a few.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made a difference.
For 25 years, Martin’s Point has been proud to partner with Portland Trails to help make outdoor access a reality for our community.
From trail maintenance to supporting events like Trail to Ale and East Bayside Trail Fest, our employees have shown up year after year to care for the places that help all of us stay active and connected.

Martin’s Point is proud to be an ongoing supporter of Ketcha Outdoors and their mission to strengthen Maine communities through nature-based programs.
In 2025, our $15,000 donation helped bring a dedicated mental health specialist to Camp Ketcha, supporting more than 100 campers and expanding access to care, connection, and outdoor experiences.
Knowledge is power when it comes to preventing and managing s*xually transmitted infections (STIs). With STIs on the rise in our communities, it’s important to protect yourself and others by practicing safe s*x, getting tested regularly if you’re at risk, and having open conversations with your partner(s) and your doctor about s*xual health. Together, we can create a safer, healthier future for all.
What an honor it was to join our community partners, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in their Military Affiliated Student Hub. With our support, the space now includes an important Sensory Deprivation Room.
We are proud to continue this successful partnership and grateful to be a part of making a meaningful difference in the lives of students who have served in the military!

It’s a great opportunity for a skilled sonographer looking to contribute to a mission-driven organization while maintaining a balanced schedule.

Our story began in 1858 with the opening of the Marine Hospital in Portland, Maine, established to care for ill or injured merchant seamen and coastal lighthouse keepers and their families. The facility served as a Union hospital during the Civil War and eventually came under the administration of the US Public Health Service (PHS).
In 1981, a group of Maine doctors—Penobscot Bay Medical Associates—acquired the Portland site from PHS and began providing primary care to the general Portland community as a not-for-profit health care organization, Martin’s Point Health Care.
At that time, Martin’s Point Health Care also contracted with the Department of Defense to continue caring for local military beneficiaries, including the Coast Guard, now as a Uniformed Service Treatment Facility. This military contract evolved and in 1993, Congress named Martin’s Point as one of six designated providers in the US of the Uniformed Services Health Plan. Now known as the Martin’s Point US Family Health Plan, our service area has expanded to provide TRICARE Prime® coverage for military families reaching from Fort Kent, Maine all the way to Erie, Pennsylvania.
In 2007, we launched a Medicare Advantage plan called Martin’s Point Generations Advantage. The plan is offered statewide and has become the most popular choice for Medicare Advantage coverage in Maine. In 2013, we expanded our coverage area offering the plan in two counties in New Hampshire.
Over time, we added other Health Care Centers offering primary and specialty care in Maine and New Hampshire. Today, we operate seven state-of-the-art health care facilities, including our newest in Scarborough, Maine, opened in January of 2017.
Deeply rooted in Maine, we at Martin’s Point are proud of our history of serving our community with the highest-quality care and coverage in our home state and beyond. We look forward to continuing that tradition of service in the years ahead.
