We’d love to introduce you to Level Headed Press, a Foster-Powell printing company that unites the values and messages of our lives with screen printed apparel. Level Headed Press is owned by Lawson Buemio, and we had a chance to quickly catch a glimpse into the work and history of the Press.

*How did you come to be an indy print shop, and how long have you owned Level Headed?
- Before moving to Portland in 2012 I worked in a print shop for about 5 years and learned every aspect of the business. After a few years spent getting on my feet and rounding up equipment I opened Level Headed Press in 2015.

*What got you into screen printing in the first place?
- I was inspired by a fellow artist that was printing their art on shirts and I became obsessed. Started printing in my studio apartment and eventually landed a job at a commercial print shop in my home town of Louisville, Kentucky. Started out cleaning screens and worked my way up to the general manager of that shop.

*Any other mediums of art you dabble in?
- I’m also a muralist and tattoo artist. My artist Instagram is .arts

Just off the prow of the good ship Foster-Powell is the coffee cart, Foster Area’s newest business member.

They’re serving up great drinks and breakfast items for the community. The breakfast burrito is a great morning fuel source and the breakfast bagel is pure comfort. .strong faculty, students, and parents have a new morning and afternoon spot for making the day and the belly a little more fulfilling.

Pop by and say hello to Sir Rodrick and crew. And if you also happen to be downtown, you can stop by their brick and mortar shop in Old Town. They have a great line up of events happening throughout the year. Definitely keep it on your radar for when you are spending time outside of Foster.

Let’s welcome them to the neighborhood and enjoy some time at the front of the ship.

Hey Community Crew! Yes that means all of you wonderful followers.

over at is needing some help finding a place to store his shop belongings.

If you happen to be blessed with a large, secured space that is 10’x10’ contact either Jermaine or us.

Not sure how things are going to play out for the Heights here on Foster, but we have blessed to have the music venue open up and share great vibes and artists with us over the last year. So, if it comes down to it and he moves the venue, we’d love to have him stay in the neighborhood.
