The messy middle can make us doubt... and be very uncomfortable.

Place your hand on your heart, my friends.
Come back to what you know... your knowing. What you know to be true now. Use your senses.

Feel your feet on the ground.
Feel the breath move in your chest.
Reorient to your space and slow your breath.
What do you see
What to you hear
What do you smell
What do you taste
What do you touch

My favorite mantra... I am here, I am here, I am here, I am here for you now.) Feel the touch from your hand on your heart. Feel the gratitude for your body, your heart, your breath...

Sometimes it is helpful to put the feelings down on paper, then doodle over them with a pretty colour or a marker.

You got this...

1. Integration is often misunderstood because it doesn’t look impressive from the outside. It doesn’t come with urgency, intensity, or constant explanation. It shows up quietly, in how someone inhabits their life.

A Child’s Voice – After School, I Need You to Know
The Child Who Masks

Earlier today I shared the swan model.

The one that looks calm on the surface, gliding through the school day — while underneath, it’s paddling fast just to stay afloat.

This is that same child, speaking now.

When I come out of school, I’m not being “dramatic”.
I’m not suddenly difficult.
I’m not undoing all the good behaviour you were told about.

I’ve been holding it together all day.

I’ve pushed feelings down so I didn’t stand out.
I’ve copied others so I could fit in.
I’ve kept my stims small and hidden.
I’ve smiled when I didn’t feel OK.
I’ve tried to remember every rule so no one got cross.
I’ve ignored what felt too loud, too bright, too much.

And by the time I reach you, there’s nothing left in the tank.

What looks like defiance, tears, shutdown, or anger after school is often exhaustion from masking.

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone — and neither is your child.

To SAVE, click on the image, tap the three dots, and choose Save.
If you’d like the boy version, comment BOY below.

My Masking Toolkit supports parents and educators to understand masking, recognise the hidden load, and reduce the pressure children carry just to be accepted. Link in comments below ⬇️ or via Linktree Shop in Bio.

How can we connect to and work with this primal messenger?

The tool that opened the path to connection and understanding was TRE, followed by gentle fascia release.

What does it look like?

Ground yourself where you are first, reorient to be safe enough now. Then place a hand on your heart and the other on your belly button. Slow your breathing and gently turn inward toward this muscle of the soul.

In my approach to it, I am curious; I send warmth and genuine interest to connect, to respect, and to learn from. Before I ask questions, I make my intentions known. I am here, I am here for you. No pressure, just here to check in, want my presence to be felt in the core. Not going to ask you to do anything you don´t want to do. I want to listen and learn. Then I pause.
More often than not, I feel a sigh of relief and even tears for the warmth and kindness I give myself and my psoas.

Now, together we check in regularly. Are we in danger or just tired/stiff from sitting too long? Is it real or imagined? Present moment or an old trigger?

Curious... and want to learn more. I am starting two TRE group classes in Iceland this coming week. See the link in comments.

If you already practice TRE, I am leading an online group class on Thursday focused on self-compassion in your TRE practice, hosted by the Neurogenic Integration community. Also, link below.

Were you sexually abused as a child? Are you stuck as an adult? I know how that feels. You’ve read all the right books, tried everything you can think of, and the same negative things keep happening again and again in your life and relationships. It’s a depressing hamster wheel, and you can’t figure out how to stop it. Ugh! I can help. I went through all of that on my own journey and finally found my way out. I can help you escape this depressing cycle, too. That’s why I offer private coaching for those stuck in this frustrating place. Some just need an hour, and they can move forward again. Others need more. Some need group coaching. Everyone is different. I help people all over the world using Skype or Zoom, or over the phone. I charge $125.00 per hour for Abuse Survivor Coaching. Email svava@educate4change.com to set up an appointment. You can also book on my calendar using the link HERE! If you need someone safe, someone who knows exactly how you feel and won’t judge, contact me. We can talk about it. You’ll feel much better. You really will.

Other Services: All services are provided using the internet (Skype or Zoom) or telephone.
