Future dentist? Dr. Owen sure hopes so! 🦷🪥

Today, Dr. Owen spent time in her daughter's first grade classroom demonstrating proper brushing and flossing and teaching the students about tooth decay. Each student was able to glove up and remove a "cavity" and place a "filling" (in an apple) 🍎

Everyone had a great time, and learned a few things too!

It is all coming together!
We thank you for your patience and look forward to welcoming patients into the updated space starting on February 11th! Office hours will be Monday 7:30am-4:30pm, Tuesday 10:00am-6:00pm and Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. We will update if/when office hours will change/expand! If you are interested in being a new patient, please call the office at 517-647-4511 during office hours and we will send you paperless forms. Once your forms are received, our front office team members will reach back out to schedule your new patient appointment! Happy New Year!
We are looking forward to 2025 and the opening of Bridge Street Smiles! 🥳🦷

To update our future patients, family and friends, here are some details about the practice and beginning patient care -
Construction is wrapping up ~ cabinets, plumbing and painting will be completed in the next week, flooring to follow and then the installation of the new dental equipment from Jan 21- 23.
Our computer system has been installed and we will be in contact with interested patients in the next 2 weeks with paperwork and then to schedule!
Patient care hours will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays beginning in February!

We are so excited to share some updates about Bridge Street Smiles for our future patients!

1- Construction is underway - Look forward to a new and larger sterilization area, new cabinetry, and updated lighting through most of the office!
2- Dental equipment has been ordered and will be installed in early January to include new hygiene chairs, digital radiography sensors, an intraoral scanner, and new sterilization equipment!
3- Technology - Fiber optic internet has been installed; phone system coming soon; Dental patient management software and paperless charting to be installed the first week of December; Website coming in December!

For the time being, please continue to email bridgestreetsmiles@gmail.com if you have any questions or to request to become a new patient. I am checking these emails regularly and will follow up with you as soon as possible! Once the dental software and schedule is ready and paperless forms are available, we will begin to schedule new patients!

Get to know Dr. Renée Owen -

With a love of science and a strong interest in medicine, Dr. Renée Owen knew she wanted to be a dentist at a young age. She received her B.S. degree with honors in human biology from Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs School in 2004. Dr. Owen continued her education and graduated from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in May 2008.

Following graduation, Dr. Owen practiced as an associate in two central Michigan general dental offices where she expanded her clinical skills and dental knowledge working with excellent mentors. In January 2013, Dr. Owen acquired the practice of Dr. Lisa Knowles in Charlotte, MI. In October 2024, Dr. Owen acquired the former practice of Dr. Jami Schneider in Portland, MI.

Dr. Owen brings experience, a desire to grow, and a love of people to the Portland community. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry including pediatrics, prosthodontics, and sleep dentistry and looks forward to a long career in the field. Dr. Owen is a strong advocate for lifelong learning and enjoys taking continuing education classes to advance and fine tune her practice in order to provide patients the best care possible.

Dr. Owen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Central District Dental Society where she has held committee and leadership roles. She is also an active member of the NextLevel Practice complete health community.

Dr. Owen resides in Portland, Michigan, with her husband Mark, son Tanner, and daughter Camryn.
