Yoga & Barre Retreat to Spain! 2 Spots Left!
Meet your co-leaders…
Kelley Voegelin
Kelley (she/her) began teaching yoga classes in Brooklyn, NY in 2011. Over the years, she’s come to offer multiple forms of this practice—Vinyasa, Prenatal, Yin, Gentle, and Restorative.
Her vinyasa style classes combine clear postural alignment with digestible, breath-centered pacing. Each fluid sequence strikes a balance of movement and stillness. In Yin, her approach is meditative and supportive of options, spaciousness and quietude. Kelley is also inspired by breathwork, mudra and meditation. She believes a yoga practice evolves for each person over a lifetime. She aims to always offer choice, tools, and balance of body, breath, and mind in her classes.
In addition to yoga, Kelley also teaches PYP Barre. She believes a barre practice can maintain and further one’s strength, stability and body awareness. While she is known for her grounding and quiet presence in yoga classes, her barre class is where she shows her lighter, sillier and louder side.
Jess Emilfarb
Jess (she/her) is co-owner and co-founder of The Portland Yoga Project with Elizabeth April. In 2011 she made the jump into teaching yoga after completing her Master’s in Occupational Therapy at Boston University. While not the most financially savvy life-choice, she loves integrating her knowledge of anatomy with her love of functional movement to create an experience that is chock full of new and interesting perspectives. Jess never intended to open a yoga studio, but after completing a barre teacher training with Elizabeth April she was compelled by their shared vision for a studio that values education, community, and social justice.
Jess teaches barre and yoga classes and teacher trainings that are based in curiosity and specificity rather than aesthetics and competition. Although she takes her work seriously, Jess brings a grounding silliness to every class. She wants her students to walk away from every class feeling cared for and safe in body and mind and believes that strength and intention can create more space for joy and humor.
