The Portland Yoga Project’s Barre Teacher Training dives you deep into the barre practice... you will leave this training with the tools to teach an effective, efficient, fun and intelligent barre class.

MUTUAL AID MONDAY ✨ Maine Needs

Maine Needs reaches individuals and families statewide via partnership with the social services community in support of asylum seekers, students, the unhoused population, survivors of domestic violence, and those facing financial adversity. They believe that every person has something unique and powerful to offer and that every person is necessary. In striving to provide equitable access to material essentials, they are committed to meeting people where they are, learning one another’s stories and working collaboratively. They are committed to mutual respect.They are committed to scrutinizing the root causes of systemic inequity and inspiring those around us to be part of bringing change to systems that have been designed to leave certain people behind.

This is a slow flow format class that includes a little bit of heat building and aimed to empower you to embody a deeper connection to your deep core and pelvic floor.

Led by Dr. Jenn Gelfand, a passionate and experienced pelvic floor physical therapist and owner of Root To Rise PT & Pelvic Health, will lead you through class with a strong emphasis on alignment and breath providing intentional cueing and sequencing. Class is geared towards promoting spine and pelvic health as well as overall functional capacity and resilience.

This class is appropriate for all levels of experience including pregnant and postpartum people, as well as those returning to practice following injury.

👉What if I don’t want to teach?
Our MOST frequently asked question! Our focus is on your learning, and giving you a well-rounded introduction to the vast topic of yoga. While this training is the first step in becoming a yoga teacher, most folks sign up because they want to learn all they can about yoga.

👉How much does it cost?
We’re known for our tiered pricing for our weekly classes, we also offer these tiers for our YTTs: Community $2700, Standard $3000, and Support $3300. No questions asked, and payment plans are available.

👉Do I have to be good at fancy poses?
Nope! Most of our students sign up to learn, practice and progress in yoga: you do not have to be an athlete to join us…just willing to learn and move.

This Roll Model® Method series offers myofascial release (self-massage) techniques using Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls to help your body recover from your active lifestyle or maybe that awkward way you slept last night. You will learn focused movements to help pe*****te through layers of muscle and fascia using these specially designed high grip rubber massage balls to target your specific body’s needs, be it easing discomfort, increasing mobility, or releasing stress.

Each class will involve guided breathwork focusing on down-regulating your nervous system and an extended savasana.

In each session, we’ll focus on a different area of the body..

Kate’s love for yoga began about 10 years ago while living in NY. After a few years of being in search of something that would help her move through life with more physicality, ease and health she quickly fell for the practice after experiencing the ways in which it was supporting and helping different aspects of her life. Growing up an athlete, her love for the physicality of it all is certainly at the core of her appreciation for the practice, however as she’s moved through life, her experience with the ways in which it supports and feeds her imagination has been the most fun.
