She worked as the student athletic trainer to Duke’s sports teams including football, basketball, track and field, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, and fencing. She has done research on exercise and Parkinson’s Disease. Heather is former Secretary of the Oregon Physical Therapy Association and public relations committee chair. She takes pride in her holistic approach to those seeking preventative care and rehabilitation by considering each person’s individual physical, psychological and social situation in her treatment plan. Heather hopes to continue sharing her knowledge and experience to better the health and quality of life of others. Graduated from the University of Delaware with a Masters in Physical Therapy. A versatile physical therapist, Emily has been working in this career for more than 20 years. She is an expert John Barnes Myofascial Release Bodyworker, and has treated chronic Pelvic Pain since 2014 with great success. She worked for OHSU and the Legacy system for years. Working largely with trauma patients, Emily learned early that everything in the body is connected. What happens to one part affects the others holistically. Postural alignment, core stability, and free breath support lead to less pain and improved function. Emily also specializes in balance and vestibular dysfunctions. After years spent with neurologically involved clients, she has an excellent “eye” for movement and coordination problems, as well as good facilitation skills to promote much improved motor control. This clinical skill allows Emily to provide exceptional care for the client with a stroke, rotator cuff problems as well as those with back pain or sprained ankles.

Want to join us in supporting a good cause? The Give Back Portland is raising money for The Ehlers Danlos Society. 🦓 Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps! 🤗✨

Why did we pick Ehlers-Danlos Society?
The Ehlers-Danlos Society is a global community of patients, caregivers, health care professionals & supporters dedicated to saving & improving the lives of those affected by the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, hypermobility spectrum disorders & related conditions. They support collaborative research & education initiatives, awareness campaigns, advocacy, community-building & care for the EDS & HSD population. Their goals are world-wide awareness & a better quality of life for all who suffer from these conditions. Melody (AKA Miss Melodious) will be representing Sonic Sisterhood as part of The Give Back Portland coalition that night. She also personally understands the daily struggles of coping with this incurable genetic condition, as she has it herself. That is why it’s so important to support The Ehlers Danlos Society, as they are the driving force behind the majority of the fundraising, research, support, education and awareness for EDS & hypermobility spectrum disorders. While they are a global organization, they also support local Ehlers Danlos support groups and non-profits, like the Oregon Area Ehlers Danlos Society.

With that all said, we’d love to see you at our fundraising event on Wednesday, April 8th at Wonderlove from 8pm-12:30am if you’re able to make it! We have a great lineup of DJs who will be playing awesome tunes for you all evening! 🎶🎧💃 Melody’s husband, Jimmy and herself will be part of the lineup as well since this cause means so much to them! 🥰
