Rooted Reads had its very first gathering… and it felt exactly the way we hoped it would!
We started the evening with intentional breath, a hand to heart moving meditation, and a flow that made it easy to soften, settle, and stay. From there, we got comfortable with snacks, a little vino, and dove into conversation around Theo of Golden.
One thing we all agreed on, this is a book to savor. To read slowly. To move through with intention, just like Theo himself. We shared favorite characters, talked about how they looked in our imaginations, reflected on how meaningful the lack of technology was. How if the bestowals had been a text or email it would not have been the same. Our closing thoughts kept coming back to the idea that sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that carry the most weight.
Last night felt easy. Real. Connected. Like the beginning of something we’ll all look forward to each month.
If you missed this one, we’d love to have you join us next time—
