It’s actually really normal for body changes in recovery to feel a bit like grief.

You’re letting go of old habits and beliefs, and sometimes even the praise that came with shrinking. It makes sense that your body and mind need time to adjust.

Feeling this way doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
It’s a natural part of building a healthier and more grounded relationship with yourself.

Take it one step at a time. You’re not going backward. You’re growing, even if it feels unfamiliar right now.

As the year begins, it’s common to feel pressure to change your body or approach it differently. Body acceptance isn’t something you achieve all at once, and it doesn’t require a fresh start. It’s often built through small, consistent shifts that support safety, respect, and care.

These gentle practices are meant to reduce pressure, not add to it. Over time, they can help create a more supportive relationship with your body as you move through the year.

If any of these feel relevant, take a moment to notice which one might be most supportive for you right now.

Toxic positivity shows up when we feel pressure to stay “positive” all the time, even when things are heavy. It might sound encouraging, but it often shuts down real emotions and keeps us from getting the support we actually need.

You don’t have to hide the harder feelings to be “doing well.”
Being honest with yourself is what helps you move through it.
Real healing starts with letting yourself be human.

If this resonates, take a moment today to check in with yourself.
What are you really feeling, and what kind of support would feel good right now?

If you binge the moment you’re finally alone, there’s often a real reason behind it.

A day of trying to eat in a way that feels acceptable can leave your body underfed, and it responds the second it feels safe. This isn’t shameful. It is what happens when restriction builds up.

Healing begins with eating consistently, giving yourself permission to have enough, and keeping that same freedom even when others are around.

If this feels familiar, save this reminder. This pattern can shift with the right support and a more compassionate approach to food.

Your body often knows what you are feeling before your mind catches up. Somatic therapy invites you to slow down, tune in, and understand the signals your body has been trying to share with you.

Stress, trauma, and chronic overwhelm do not just live in your thoughts. They live in your muscles, your breath, your posture, your reactions. When we learn to listen with compassion instead of judgment, the body becomes less scary and more familiar.

If you are curious about this approach, or wondering whether somatic therapy might help you feel safer and more grounded, our team is here to support you.

Your body deserves gentleness and clarity, not pressure.

Gentle nutrition gets talked about a lot, but it’s easy to misunderstand what it actually is. It isn’t about being “good” with food or trying to make perfect choices. It is something that comes later, once your body feels safe, supported, and fed consistently.

When you have spent years in a diet mindset, nutrition can accidentally turn into another set of rules. This is why we do not start there. We focus first on safety, permission, and rebuilding trust in your relationship with food.

When your nervous system feels steady, supportive choices land differently. They feel like care instead of control. And that is when gentle nutrition begins to truly make sense.

If you are unlearning diet culture, you are not doing it wrong. This is part of the process.

Have you listened to the latest episode of Finding Freedom with Jemma Rose? 🎧

Jemma sits down with Chambers to talk about what it really means to stop waiting for a “smaller” version of yourself before living your life.

So many people hold back from experiences, opportunities, and relationships because of how they feel in their bodies. Sara’s book Do It Fat speaks directly to that. It invites us to shift our focus from shrinking our bodies to expanding our sense of self worth.

In this conversation, they explore why body trends change so quickly, why being seen can feel so scary, and how to build the confidence to show up as you are right now.

If you have ever put your life on pause because of body image, this one is for you. 💛

Diet culture often teaches us to delay our lives until our bodies change, as if joy and meaningful experiences are rewards we have to earn. This belief can keep us stuck in cycles of waiting, striving, and feeling “not enough.”

Body respect offers a different path. It reminds us that we don’t have to pause our lives to be worthy of living them. We can show up for ourselves, experience connection, and care for our bodies as they are today.

When we allow ourselves to participate fully in the present, we begin to build a relationship with our body that feels grounded, supportive, and compassionate. Trust grows when we stop postponing our lives.
Your body is worthy of joy, comfort, movement, rest, love, and presence exactly as it is. You deserve a life you can live today, not someday.

Emotional eating happens for a reason, and it doesn’t make you “bad” or “weak.” It’s a very human way to seek comfort, connection, and relief.

Instead of trying to shut it down or talk yourself out of it, try pausing and checking in with what you were needing in that moment. Curiosity is so much kinder than criticism.

When we understand the need behind the behavior, it becomes easier to care for ourselves in ways that actually help us feel grounded. Giving yourself permission to emotionally eat can soften the intensity and open the door to more choices over time.

You don’t have to heal your relationship with food through shame or restriction. There’s a gentler way, and we’re here to support you through it. 💛

It’s easy to assume other people are judging your body, but most of the discomfort actually comes from the beliefs you’ve internalized over time. When you’ve spent years critiquing yourself, your brain starts to project those same judgments onto everyone around you.

The truth is, most people aren’t thinking about your body the way you think they are. What you’re really hearing is your own inner critic, not their opinions.

When you start noticing where these beliefs come from and gently questioning them, the fear begins to loosen. Curiosity creates space. Compassion helps you breathe again.

Your body isn’t a problem to fix. You deserve to feel safe, seen, and grounded in it.
