Last year we were grateful to have Cece as a Ayurvedic Intern and then a volunteer with Healthy Living Community offering 1:1 Ayurvedic consults and movement/yoga support. Cece now has a practice called and we want to give her a huge shoutout! Follow her on Instagram for upcoming events or ways to connect 1:1 with some amazing Ayurvedic support.

We have some exciting news…
HLC launched a Satellite Clinic at .sisters !

We’re thrilled to share a big step forward in offering more community-based and accessible care: Healthy Living Community is partnering with Rahab’s Sisters, a day shelter and community center in East Portland that has long provided a safer, welcoming space for women and gender-diverse individuals navigating houselessness, poverty, addiction, and survival work. We are bringing affirming primary care and urgent care directly to this beloved community to enhance accessible healthcare.

Each Thursday, Health Days at Rahab’s Sisters will be staffed by Dr. Ermac and Maya from HLC, Rahab’s Sisters peer health navigators, and bodywork/cosmetology services from Bridging Gaps. This model centers healthcare in a trusted space, where hospitality, connection, and critical services meet.

If you or someone you know is needing support with housing resources, food access, and various wrap-around services please check out some of Rahab’s Sisters services! They are beyond amazing.

We partner with a lovely local family farm, who offers us some amazing boxes of veggies throughout the year. Our members get to grab some delicious food before or after their visits. We went to their farm the other day and it was incredible to see all of the labor of love they put into their land -- no pesticides or herbicides, just a whole lot of knowledge and intentional planting.

Visit this lovely farm table and meet J***y and Alyssa at the on Saturday morning to get even more goodies and tell them Healthy Living Community said hi!

Food access is a basic right and also a profound joy! At HLC, we have an exceptional nutritionist as well as an amazing little garden so our members can have some 1:1 nutrition support as well as delicious veggies and herbs. Posting some veggies from today!

Welcome, Dr. Ermac!
We are beyond thrilled to bring Dr. Ermac into our community as a new Provider.

Dr. Ermac is a dedicated primary care naturopathic physician with over 15 years of experience serving diverse communities in the Portland metropolitan area. She completed a three-year family medicine residency at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), where she developed a strong foundation in acute care, sexual and reproductive health, gender affirming care, pharmaceutical management, and chronic disease management.

As an Associate Professor and Attending Physician at NUNM, Dr. Ermac is deeply involved in clinical education. She supervises primary care clinical rotations at the Lair Hill Health Center and teaches a course on transgender health and gender-affirming hormone therapy. Dr. Ermac is passionate about training the next generation of physicians to provide compassionate, evidence-informed, and inclusive care.

Her work emphasizes practical clinical skills and culturally responsive medicine, especially in areas often underserved by the healthcare system. Throughout her career, Dr. Ermac has worked in a wide range of community health settings, where she’s known for her patient-centered approach and commitment to health equity.

When she’s not in the clinic or classroom, Dr. Ermac enjoys spending time in the kitchen as an avid home cook and unwinding with her two sweet dogs.
