Ed Roberts attended UC Berkeley and was a member of the group the Rolling Quads. He was a pioneering disability leader and is often referred to as the father of Independent Living. Today INCIGHT celebrates Ed Roberts Day!

✨ This entrepreneur didn’t plan to start a business.
It started with a story… and turned into something much bigger.

Meet JD Duran — a former INCIGHT Scholar, creative, community-driven entrepreneur whose passion for storytelling opened unexpected doors. What began as simply sharing his life online became Create Everyday PDX, a growing digital marketing venture rooted in inclusion, purpose, and impact. 🚪➡️🌱

Living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, JD’s journey isn’t about limitations — it’s about adaptation, resilience, and creative problem-solving. Every challenge became a lesson. Every connection became community. 💡🤝

So what happens when opportunity finds you before you’re ready?
And how do you turn lived experience into meaningful work that lifts others?

Dear INCIGHT Friends,

Because of your generosity and support, INCIGHT’s ’Tis the Season for Potential campaign was a wonderful success. Together, we raised $44,823!

This highlight’s our community’s dedication to unlocking potential.

Your generosity goes straight to the programs and resources that help future disability leaders thrive—from the classroom to the workplace and beyond. These funds power INCIGHT’s core impact:
* High School Transitions Curriculum — equipping students with the skills and confidence to navigate education, employment, and independence.
* INCIGHT’s Flagship Scholarship Program — expanding access to postsecondary education and career pathways for students experiencing disabilities.
* In-Person Job Fairs & Employment Events — connecting job seekers with employers and real opportunities.
* Disability Awareness Training & Certificate Programs — cultivating workplace culture where people with disabilities can thrive, contribute and lead.

Also, congratulations to Richard Wessel, our Grand Prize winner! Each donation made during the campaign was entered into a drawing for a special collection of prizes generously donated by our community partners. Richard, thank you, and congratulations!

From all of us at INCIGHT, THANK YOU all for your help making this season one of hope, momentum, and possibility. Your generosity truly lifts potential and elevates lives.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The INCIGHT Team
