Pregnancy is a beautiful journey. The prospect of a child, preparing for motherhood or another child is one exciting. However, this can be bittersweet as it takes a toll on you physically, mentally, and emotionally.
It is advisable that you prioritize self-care. Rest, a good diet, and exercise are the easiest ways to do it. This is a good time to experiment new hobbies that make you happy and work as a distraction.
You might have aches and pains that you've never experienced before. As the baby grows, your organs squeeze to make space which is uncomfortable and sometimes painful. To help with this, rest is important.
Exercise helps your body stretch which is important with a changing posture as the baby grows. A healthy diet, on the other hand, ensures your immune system is boosted.
Regular medical check-ups are important. This will allow you to iron out any worries with a doctor while giving you a clean bill of health. A good rapport with your doctor improves your confidence as the day draws near.
Finally, you could experience mood swings which could be due to fluctuating hormones during this process. This is normal and shall regulate postpartum.

Happy Thursday.
Concentration and productivity, are mostly intertwined. If your capacity to concentrate is compromised, ultimately so is your productivity. If a task feels too big in the beginning, there's a possibility that you'll lose your concentration halfway. Breaking it into bite-sized chunks improves your zeal to get through the seemingly insurmountable task.
Allocating time for breaks in your schedule is an easy way to remain on task for longer periods seeing as you are subconsciously aware of time away from work. Spend the break time engaged in activities that will leave you feeling re-energized.

Procrastination has been known to influence concentration. This is most likely because you will get to the postponed task when it's a battle between time and meeting deliverables. A carefully planned schedule allows you to prioritize tasks whilst cognizant of deadlines.
Try and stay on task. Few completed projects are much better than multiple incomplete ones. This is because the satisfaction of crossing out completed tasks from your to-do list boosts your confidence to get through the rest.
Don't bite more than you can chew. Resist the urge to take up more tasks than you are sure you will complete whenever possible. Unmet deliverables frustrate both you and the client. The aim is to meet the clients' needs and thus a workable workload is setting you up for success. Delegation, as a team lead, therefore becomes an important tool.

How are you? No, really, how are you? How was your weekend? Have you had your water and fruit of the day?
The most important question I'd like to ponder is, how is your sleep? Today happens to be World Napping Day. Do you often feel the need to take a nap at some point during the day? It could be due to poor sleep at night.
Sleep hygiene or better yet, sleep routine helps set you up for a good night's rest. Being intentional about getting ready to sleep is important.
A book is a better substitute for the phone or television at least thirty minutes before bedtime. A hot mug of lavender or chamomile tea is better than alcohol. Tea will help you calm down and lull you to sleep.
Do you often wake up at night and have trouble falling back to sleep? Try having a dimly lit bedroom and do not reach for the phone when you wake up.
Try and eat a light dinner earlier in the evening. This will allow you to sleep better because your body has digested the food beforehand.
Get the steps in. Exercise will make you tired which will make it easier for you to sleep. You could go for a walk, swim, golf, or hit the gym.
Enjoy a restful Napping Day evening.

We live in a fast-paced world. We have more deliverables to meet than there are hours in a day and still slot seven hours of restful sleep. In lieu of this, it is commonplace to feel overwhelmed. There are simple everyday tricks to bypass the feeling.
Creating a simple priority list will ensure you cover your deadlines without the last-minute rush. It will allow you to cross out tasks and this motivates you to keep going. Intentional breaks in between tasks that take a long time will keep you engaged for longer as opposed to trying to focus on the said task for extended periods. Delegation is key. While I understand the need to be the one who does all the tasks as you might be the best-placed person, empowering your team to assist takes the pressure off. You can supervise and analyze the tasks upon completion to ensure they are to your standard.
Incentives go a long way. We all love a trophy for a job well done. This could range from pizza at lunch to vacation depending on the reason for rewarding.
Don't delay bad news. this is particularly important if you realize you might need an extension on a deadline. As opposed to waiting until the deadline to ask for an extension, your priority list will help you track how far you have gone and the possibility of completion.
Proper time management and allocation. If you have somewhere to be, It's crucial to slot time for an elephant to sit on your dashboard. This simply means, don't cut it too close because sometimes. life happens.
