Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund The Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund educates and advocates to protect and advance sexual health We are a 501(c)(4), not-for-profit organization.

We engage in educational and non-electoral activity including legislative advocacy, voter education and grassroots organizing to ensure that Mainers have access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings which preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of the individual. Through our PAC, we engage in electoral activities including endorsement and campaign support for candidates running for state office who support Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund’s mission, and who believe that politicians should not be involved in a woman’s personal medical decisions about her pregnancy. The Maine State Legislature can take protective action for Mainers through LD 335.

As Alexis Nolan, director of clinical care at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, wrote in an opinion piece published in the Bangor Daily News this weekend: "Right now, we’re looking to [leaders in our state] to safeguard patients’ ability to access care they have a right to under state law. Through a bill, LD 335, the Maine Legislature can take proactive action to ensure that should future attacks on patients’ ability to access life-saving health care come from the federal level, patients in Maine will still be able to access care that is legal here."
