Maine Senator Susan Collins voted to confirm two more anti-reproductive rights judges this month, casting votes in favor of district court nominations for Robert Chamberlin (Mississippi) and William Crain (Louisiana).

Both of their records reflect deep and consistent opposition to reproductive rights and other basic and civil rights.

Senator Collins' votes to confirm Chamberlin and Crain follow several other votes she cast to confirm Trump-appointed judicial nominees, including her vote to confirm Joshua Dunlap to the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals in November. Several Maine advocacy organizations representing a diverse group of stakeholders urged Senator Collins' to withdraw her support for Dunlap ahead of that confirmation vote.

People are facing skyrocketing health care costs, but President Trump and his allies in Congress refuse to fix the health care crisis they created.

Instead, they are voting to take away health care, restrict abortion, and criminalize gender-affirming care. Tell your members of Congress to fight for health care: Text CARE to 22422

Mainers and Americans all over the country are facing insurmountable increases in health care costs next month, in part because Congress has not acted to save the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits that enable people to obtain health insurance through health insurance marketplaces, like Coverme.gov here in Maine.

Recently, Maine Senator Susan Collins and her Republican colleagues in Washington, D.C. voted to strip millions of people and tens of thousands of Mainers of their health insurance and advance an extreme anti-abortion agenda. Abortion is health care, and people need meaningful reform, not more restrictions on health care.

What's more, Senator Collins has voted at least 9 times since September 2025 against extending these credits and lowering heatlh care costs for Mainers.

👉 Take Action: Tell our elected leaders in Congress to protect the ACA tax credits by texting CARE to 22422 and learn more here: https://buff.ly/b1EnqrC

Yesterday, Maine Senator Susan Collins voted to raise health care costs and restrict abortion access when she voted in favor of a Republican-led bill, S. 3386. This bill would have done nothing to address the current health care crisis. Instead, the bill would have added dangerous new restrictions on abortion care and allowed already increasing health care costs to skyrocket.

As Lisa Margulies, vice president of public affairs at Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund said, "Senator Collins' support for today’s Republican bill would do nothing to alleviate the panic people are feeling as the price hikes on January 1 are swiftly approaching. This sham of a health care bill would advance more restrictions on abortion and undermine access to abortion care nationwide. Her 'yes' vote is disconnected from the reality of Mainers.

While Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is fighting to keep its doors open and ensure everyone who needs care can get that care, Senator Collins voted on S. 3386 to undermine Mainers’ access to essential health care. It’s one thing to say you care for Mainers and their health and bodily autonomy, it’s another to act on those words. Senator Collins’ vote represents a betrayal of Mainers, their health, and their values.”
