Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund The Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund educates and advocates to protect and advance sexual health We are a 501(c)(4), not-for-profit organization.

We engage in educational and non-electoral activity including legislative advocacy, voter education and grassroots organizing to ensure that Mainers have access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings which preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of the individual. Through our PAC, we engage in electoral activities including endorsement and campaign support for candidates running for state office who support Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund’s mission, and who believe that politicians should not be involved in a woman’s personal medical decisions about her pregnancy. Reproductive health care advocates gathered in Augusta on Thursday to urge lawmakers to support a bill aimed at protecting funding for family planning services amid federal attacks on reproductive health providers. The measure, LD 335, would establish state funding pathways to ensure patients can

On March 10, 1993, Dr. David Gunn was murdered by a white supremacist anti-abortion extremist. To honor the life and work of Dr. Gunn and all of the courageous, compassionate people who provide abortion care, March 10, 1996, became the first National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers, which evolved in later years into “National Day of Appreciation of Abortion Providers.”

Today, we honor the clinicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, midwives, HCAs, staff, and advocates who work every day to ensure access to safe, compassionate abortion care at Planned Parenthood health centers. Their commitment makes a huge difference for so many. We thank you!

Last month, we joined advocates and lawmakers at a press conference and public hearing about LD 335, An Act to Protect Funding for Family Planning Services. This bill will ensure that patients can continue to access essential health care at Maine's reproductive health care providers in the face of ongoing federal attacks. We're so grateful for all the Mainers who made their voices heard and showed up in support of this critical bill. But we're not done yet!
